“Live Out and Teach In”

Deuteronomy 5:32 – 6:9

STRAIGHT PATH

Deuteronomy 5:32-33 (ESV)
32  You shall be careful therefore to do as the LORD your God has commanded you. You shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
33  You shall walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess.

Psalm 33:12 (ESV)
12  Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!

TRAVELING PAPERS

Deuteronomy 6:1-3 (ESV)
1  “Now this is the commandment””the statutes and the rules””that the LORD your God commanded me to teach you, that you may do them in the land to which you are going over, to possess it,
2  that you may fear the LORD your God, you and your son and your son”™s son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be long.
3  Hear therefore, O Israel, and be careful to do them, that it may go well with you, and that you may multiply greatly, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.

Psalm 8:1-4 (ESV)
1  O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
2  Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.
3  When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4  what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?

Exodus 20:20 (ESV)
20  Moses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.”

PRIMARY FOCUS

Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (ESV)
4  “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
5  You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Isaiah 42:8 (ESV)
8  I am the LORD; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols.

Mark 12:29-31 (ESV)
29  Jesus answered, “The most important is, ”˜Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
30  And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”™
31  The second is this: ”˜You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”™ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

HOME SCHOOLING

Deuteronomy 6:6-9 (ESV)
6  And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
7  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
8  You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
9  You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Ephesians 6:4 (ESV)
4  Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Psalm 1:1-3 (ESV)
1  Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2  but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
3  He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
