Every Member A Minister – Part 1

“Finding your place in this place!”

Divine Involvement

1 Timothy 1:12 (NASB)

12  I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service,

The Character of the Kingdom

Matthew 16:13-18 (NASB)

13  Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14  And they said, “Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” 15  He *said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”  16  Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17  And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18  “I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.

“I will build My Church…”

“I” ”¦ This divine design is personal.

“Will” ”¦ This divine design is promised.

“Build” ”¦ This divine design is progressive.

“My” ”¦ This divine design is passionate.

“Church” ”¦ This divine design is people.

Very Important Note

We (His people / followers / disciples) need to say: “We will build His church”

Acts 2:41-47 (NASB)

41  So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. 42  They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43  Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. 44  And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; 45  and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. 46  Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, 47  praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Our building “involvement” begins with a Faith Foundation.

Divine Demand

The Call of the Kingdom

Matthew 13:3-9 (NASB)

3  And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, “Behold, the sower went out to sow; 4  and as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate them up. 5  “Others fell on the rocky places, where they did not have much soil; and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of soil.

The Sower…The Christian

The Seed…The Word of God

The Soil / Field…The World

Matthew 13:18-23 (NASB)

18  “Hear then the parable of the sower. 19  “When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is the one on whom seed was sown beside the road. 20  “The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21  yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. 22  “And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 23  “And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.”

The Call of the Kingdom is…

1. For the sower to be faithful to sow the seed (the Word of God) to the world.

2. For the seed to be faithfully spread to the world by the sower.

3. For the sower and the seed to impact the world with the purpose of changing the world for the glory of God.

PLEDGE:

Together, together!
