Richard Jones<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-9929-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/10-04-2026.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/10-04-2026.mp3\">http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/10-04-2026.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>A Picture of Giving<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Luke 21:1-4 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he said, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cTruly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Principle of Giving<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Proverbs 3:9-10 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Honor the LORD with your wealth <span class=\"poetry2\">and with the firstfruits of all your produce;<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0then your barns will be filled with plenty, <span class=\"poetry2\">and your vats will be bursting with wine.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Passion in Giving<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Pattern of Giving<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>1 Corinthians 16:1-3 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when I arrive, I will send those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Promise in Giving<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Romans 8:31-32 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For I know the plans I have for you, declares the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span>, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WITNESS OF THE WIDOW Luke 21: 1-4 by Rev.
