Richard Jones<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-9811-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/07-19-2026.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/07-19-2026.mp3\">http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/07-19-2026.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>A Shrewd Scoundrel<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Luke 16:1-8 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0He also said to the disciples, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cThere was a rich man who had a manager, and charges were brought to him that this man was wasting his possessions.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And he called him and said to him, \u2018What is this that I hear about you? Turn in the account of your management, for you can no longer be manager.\u2019<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And the manager said to himself, \u2018What shall I do, since my master is taking the management away from me? I am not strong enough to dig, and I am ashamed to beg.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">I have decided what to do, so that when I am removed from management, people may receive me into their houses.\u2019<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">So, summoning his master\u2019s debtors one by one, he said to the first, \u2018How much do you owe my master?\u2019<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">He said, \u2018A hundred measures of oil.\u2019 He said to him, \u2018Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.\u2019<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Then he said to another, \u2018And how much do you owe?\u2019 He said, \u2018A hundred measures of wheat.\u2019 He said to him, \u2018Take your bill, and write eighty.\u2019<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Matthew 10:16 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cBehold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>A Faithful Servant<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Luke 16:9-13 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.<\/span> <span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cOne who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And if you have not been faithful in that which is another\u2019s, who will give you that which is your own?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Ephesians 5:15-16 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.<\/p>\n<p><b>1 Peter 4:10 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God\u2019s varied grace:<\/p>\n<p><b>1 Thessalonians 2:4 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts.<\/p>\n<p><b>Romans 14:10-12 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0for it is written, <span class=\"poetry1\">\u201cAs I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">and every tongue shall confess to God.\u201d<\/span> <span class=\"noindent\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>1 Corinthians 3:13-15 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0each one\u2019s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0If anyone\u2019s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.<\/p>\n<p><b>Matthew 6:19-21 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cDo not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal,<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Psalm 127:2 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0It is in vain that you rise up early <span class=\"poetry2\">and go late to rest,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\">eating the bread of anxious toil;<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">for he gives to his beloved sleep.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>A Pointed Scolding<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Luke 16:14-17 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cYou are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cThe Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is preached, and everyone forces his way into it.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law to become void.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Matthew 5:17-18 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cDo not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CHALLENGING WORDS Luke 16: 1-17 by Rev.
