Richard Jones<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-9716-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/05-24-2026.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/05-24-2026.mp3\">http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/05-24-2026.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Greed<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Luke 12:13-21 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Someone in the crowd said to him, \u201cTeacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But he said to him, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cMan, who made me a judge or arbitrator over you?\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cTake care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one\u2019s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he told them a parable, saying, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cThe land of a rich man produced plentifully,<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">and he thought to himself, \u2018What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?\u2019<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And he said, \u2018I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And I will say to my soul, \u201cSoul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.\u201d\u2019<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">But God said to him, \u2018Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?\u2019<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>1 Timothy 6:17-19 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Grace<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Luke 12:22-32 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And he said to his disciples, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cTherefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cFear not, little flock, for it is your Father\u2019s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Psalm 147:9 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He gives to the beasts their food, <span class=\"poetry2\">and to the young ravens that cry.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Psalm 145:15-16 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The eyes of all look to you, <span class=\"poetry2\">and you give them their food in due season.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0You open your hand; <span class=\"poetry2\">you satisfy the desire of every living thing.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Psalm 37:25 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I have been young, and now am old, <span class=\"poetry2\">yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">or his children begging for bread.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Romans 8:32 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?<\/p>\n<p><b>2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Giving<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Luke 12:33-34 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">34 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Acts 4:34-35 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">34 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">35 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and laid it at the apostles\u2019 feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need.<\/p>\n<p><b>2 Corinthians 9:6-8 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GREED, GRACE and GIVING Luke 12: 13-34 \u00a0by Rev.
