Richard Jones<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-9664-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/04-19-2026.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/04-19-2026.mp3\">http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/04-19-2026.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>A Pattern of Prayer (Review)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Luke 11:1-4 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, \u201cLord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cWhen you pray, say:<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cFather, hallowed be your name.<\/span> <span class=\"JesusWords\">Your kingdom come.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Give us each day our daily bread,<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">and forgive us our sins,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\"><span class=\"JesusWords\">for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"JesusWords\">And lead us not into temptation.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>A Parable About Prayer<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Luke 11:5-8 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cWhich of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, \u2018Friend, lend me three loaves,<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him\u2019;<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">and he will answer from within, \u2018Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything\u2019?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Psalm 27:7-8 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud; <span class=\"poetry2\">be gracious to me and answer me!<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0You have said, \u201cSeek my face.\u201d My heart says to you, <span class=\"poetry2\">\u201cYour face, LORD, do I seek.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>A Principle of Prayer<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Luke 11:9-10 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For I know the plans I have for you, declares the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span>, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.<\/p>\n<p><b>Hebrews 4:16 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>A Promise in Prayer<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Luke 11:11-13 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent;<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Matthew 7:9-11 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Psalm 84:11-12 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For the LORD God is a sun and shield; <span class=\"poetry2\">the LORD bestows favor and honor.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\">No good thing does he withhold<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">from those who walk uprightly.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0O <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span> of hosts, <span class=\"poetry2\">blessed is the one who trusts in you!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Romans 8:9 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you.
