Richard Jones<\/b><\/h2>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-9587-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/03-01-2026.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/03-01-2026.mp3\">http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/03-01-2026.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Scary Encounter<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"versecontent\"><span class=\"jesuswords\"><span class=\"di versecontent\"><b>Luke 9:37-42 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">37 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0On the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great crowd met him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">38 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And behold, a man from the crowd cried out, \u201cTeacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">39 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out. It convulses him so that he foams at the mouth, and shatters him, and will hardly leave him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">40 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And I begged your disciples to cast it out, but they could not.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">41 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Jesus answered, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cO faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">42 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0While he was coming, the demon threw him to the ground and convulsed him. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Mark 6:7 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Mark 9:20 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth.<\/p>\n<p><b>Mark 9:21-24 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Jesus asked his father, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cHow long has this been happening to him?\u201d<\/span> And he said, \u201cFrom childhood.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Jesus said to him, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201c\u2018If you can\u2019! All things are possible for one who believes.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, \u201cI believe; help my unbelief!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>1 John 5:14-15 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.<\/p>\n<p><b>Mark 9:25-27 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cYou mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came out, and the boy was like a corpse, so that most of them said, \u201cHe is dead.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.<\/p>\n<p><b>Mark 9:28-29 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when he had entered the house, his disciples asked him privately, \u201cWhy could we not cast it out?\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cThis kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Ephesians 6:12 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.<\/p>\n<p><b>Matthew 17:19-20 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, \u201cWhy could we not cast it out?\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cBecause of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, \u2018Move from here to there,\u2019 and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Stubborn Enthusiasm<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Luke 9:43-45 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">43 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And all were astonished at the majesty of God. <span class=\"ind\">But while they were all marveling at everything he was doing, Jesus said to his disciples,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">44 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cLet these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">45 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But they did not understand this saying, and it was concealed from them, so that they might not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask him about this saying.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Mark 9:30-32 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">30 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0They went on from there and passed through Galilee. And he did not want anyone to know,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cThe Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<p class=\"di\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAIN Luke 9: 37-45 \u00a0by Rev.
