And John,<\/b><b> 19 <\/b><b>calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to the Lord, saying, \u201cAre you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?\u201d <\/b><b>20 <\/b><b>And <\/b><b>when the men had come to <\/b><b>Him, they<\/b><b> said, <\/b><b>\u201cJohn the Baptist has sent us to you, saying, \u2018Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?\u2019\u201d <\/b><b>21<\/b><b> In that hour He healed many people of diseases and plagues and evil spirits, and on many who were blind he bestowed sight. <\/b><b>22<\/b><b> And He answered them, <\/b><b>\u201cGo and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good news preached to them. <\/b><b>23<\/b><b> And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b>Luke 3: 16-17<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>16<\/b><b> John answered them all, saying, \u201cI baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the <\/b><b>Holy Spirit and fire. <\/b><b>17<\/b><b> His winnowing fork is in His hand, to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b>Malachi 4:1<\/b><b> <\/b><\/h3>\n<h3><span class=\"ind\"><strong>1&#8243;For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says the LORD of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><b>Isaiah 35: 5-6<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>5 <\/b><b>Then the eyes of the blind shall be <\/b><b>opened,and<\/b><b> the ears of the deaf unstopped; <\/b><b>6<\/b><b> then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters <\/b><b>break forth in the wilderness, <\/b><b>and streams in the desert;<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b>Isaiah 29: 18-19<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>18 <\/b><b>In that day the deaf shall hear the words of a <\/b><b>book,and<\/b><b> out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind shall see. <\/b><b>19 <\/b><b>The meek shall obtain fresh joy in the Lord, and the poor among <\/b><b>mankind shall exult in the Holy <\/b><b>One of Israel.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Confirmation <\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Luke 7: 24-28<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>24<\/b><b> When John&#8217;s messengers had gone, Jesus began to speak to the crowds concerning John: \u201cWhat did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? <\/b><b>25<\/b><b> What then did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? <\/b><b>Behold, those who are dressed <\/b><b>in splendid clothing and live in <\/b><b>luxury are in kings&#8217; courts. <\/b><b>26 <\/b><b>What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. <\/b><b>27<\/b><b> This is he of whom it is <\/b><b>written, \u201c\u2018Behold<\/b><b>, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.\u2019 <\/b><b>28<\/b><b> I tell you, among those born of women none is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b>Malachi 3: 1<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>\u201cBehold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, <\/b><b>behold, he is coming, says the <\/b><b>Lord of hosts.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b>2 Corinthians 5: 17-18<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>17<\/b><b> Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. <\/b><b>18<\/b><b> All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself a<\/b><b>nd gave us the ministry <\/b><b>of reconciliation;<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Condemnation <\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Luke 7: 29-35<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>29<\/b><b> (When all the people heard this, <\/b><b>and the tax collectors too, they declared God just, having been baptized with the baptism of John, <\/b><b>30 <\/b><b>but the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.) <\/b><b>31 <\/b><b>\u201cTo what then shall I compare <\/b><b>the people of this generation, and <\/b><b>what are they like? <\/b><b>32<\/b><b> They are like <\/b><b>children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, <\/b><b>\u201c\u2018We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, <\/b><b>and you did not weep.\u2019 <\/b><b><\/b><b>33<\/b><b> For John the Baptist has come <\/b><b>eating no bread and drinking no <\/b><b>wine, and you say, \u2018He has a <\/b><b>demon.\u2019<\/b><b> 34 <\/b><b>The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, \u2018Look at him!
