Richard Jones<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-9437-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/11-16-2025.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/11-16-2025.mp3\">http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/11-16-2025.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>James 1: 22-25\u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>22<\/b><b> But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. <\/b><b>23<\/b><b> For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, <\/b><b>he is like a man who looks <\/b><b>intently at his natural face in a <\/b><b>mirror. <\/b><b>24<\/b><b> For he looks at himself <\/b><b>and goes away and at once <\/b><b>forgets what he was like. <\/b><b>25<\/b><b> But the one who <\/b><b>looks into<\/b><b> the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer <\/b><b>who acts, he will be blessed in <\/b><b>his doing.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Pattern and Blessing<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Luke 6: 37-38<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>37 <\/b><b>\u201cJudge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;<\/b><b> 38 <\/b><b>give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure <\/b><b>you use it will be measured back to you.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b>Psalm 139: 23-24<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>23 <\/b><b>Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! <\/b><b>24 <\/b><b>And see if there be any <\/b><b>grievous way in me, and <\/b><b>lead me in the way <\/b><b>everlasting!<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Beams and Blindspots<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Luke 6: 39-42<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>39 He also told them a parable: \u201cCan a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? 40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher. <\/strong><strong>41 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother&#8217;s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 42 How can you say to your brother, \u2018Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,\u2019 when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and <\/strong><strong>then you will see clearly to take out <\/strong><strong>the speck that is in your brother&#8217;s eye.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><b>Galatians 6:1-2\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<h3><strong><span class=\"ind\">1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.<br \/>\n2 Bear one another\u2019s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Trees and People<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Luke 6: 43-45<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>43 \u201cFor no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, 44 for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. 45 The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><b>Matthew 7: 15-20<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>15<\/b><b> \u201cBeware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep&#8217;s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. <\/b><b>16<\/b><b> You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? <\/b><b>17<\/b><b> So, every healthy tree bears <\/b><b>good fruit, but the diseased tree <\/b><b>bears bad fruit. <\/b><b>18<\/b><b> A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. <\/b><b>19 <\/b><b>Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. <\/b><b>20<\/b><b> Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Obedience and Reward<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Luke 6: 46-49<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>46 \u201cWhy do you call me \u2018Lord, Lord,\u2019 and not do what I tell you? 47 Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: 48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. 49 But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation.
