The Touch of Power<\/b><\/h2>\n

Luke 6: 17-19<\/b><\/h3>\n

17 <\/b>And he came down with them and stood on a level place, with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast <\/b>of <\/b>Tyre<\/b> and Sidon, <\/b>18 <\/b>who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. And those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured. <\/b>19 <\/b>And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Radical Beatitudes<\/b><\/h2>\n

Luke 6: 20-23<\/b><\/h3>\n

20<\/b> And he <\/b>lifted up<\/b> his eyes on his disciples, and said: <\/b>\u201cBlessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. <\/b>21<\/b> \u201cBlessed are you who are hungry <\/b>now, for you shall be satisfied. <\/b>22<\/b> \u201cBlessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! <\/b>23<\/b> Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.<\/b><\/p>\n

Mark 1:14-15<\/b>\u00a0<\/b>
\n14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God,
\n15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and saying, \u201cThe time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Isaiah 55:8-9<\/b>

Luke 18: 9-14<\/b>
\n9 <\/b>He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: <\/b>10<\/b> \u201cTwo men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax <\/b>collector. <\/b>11 <\/b>The Pharisee, <\/b>standing by himself, prayed <\/b>thus: <\/b>\u2018God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. <\/b>12<\/b> I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.\u2019 <\/b>13<\/b> But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even <\/b>lift up<\/b> his eyes to heaven, but <\/b>beat his breast, saying, \u2018God, <\/b>be merciful to me, a sinner!\u2019 <\/b>14<\/b> I tell <\/b>you,<\/b> this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n
