And those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured. <\/b><b>19 <\/b><b>And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>The Radical Beatitudes<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Luke 6: 20-23<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>20<\/b><b> And he <\/b><b>lifted up<\/b><b> his eyes on his disciples, and said: <\/b><b>\u201cBlessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. <\/b><b>21<\/b><b> \u201cBlessed are you who are hungry <\/b><b>now, for you shall be satisfied. <\/b><b>22<\/b><b> \u201cBlessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! <\/b><b>23<\/b><b> Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Mark 1:14-15<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and saying, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cThe time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Isaiah 55:8-9<\/b><br \/>\n<strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For my thoughts are not your thoughts, <span class=\"poetry2\">neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For as the heavens are higher than the earth, <span class=\"poetry2\">so are my ways higher than your ways<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">and my thoughts than your thoughts.<\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Matthew 5: 3<\/b><br \/>\n<b>3<\/b><b> \u201cBlessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>James 4:6\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, \u201cGod opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Luke 18: 9-14<\/b><br \/>\n<b>9 <\/b><b>He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: <\/b><b>10<\/b><b> \u201cTwo men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax <\/b><b>collector. <\/b><b>11 <\/b><b>The Pharisee, <\/b><b>standing by himself, prayed <\/b><b>thus: <\/b><b>\u2018God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. <\/b><b>12<\/b><b> I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.\u2019 <\/b><b>13<\/b><b> But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even <\/b><b>lift up<\/b><b> his eyes to heaven, but <\/b><b>beat his breast, saying, \u2018God, <\/b><b>be merciful to me, a sinner!\u2019 <\/b><b>14<\/b><b> I tell <\/b><b>you,<\/b><b> this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Matthew 5: 6<\/b><br \/>\n<b>6 <\/b><b>\u201cBlessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Psalm 42:1\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"poetry1\">As a deer pants for flowing streams,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">so pants my soul for you, O God.<\/span><\/strong> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2 Corinthians 7:10\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Psalm 51:17\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; <span class=\"poetry2\">a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.<\/span><\/strong> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>The Opposite Expectations<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Luke 6: 24-26<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>24<\/b><b> \u201cBut woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. <\/b><b>25<\/b><b> \u201cWoe to you who are full now, for you shall be hungry. \u201cWoe to you <\/b><b>who laugh now, for you shall <\/b><b>mourn and weep. <\/b><b>26<\/b><b> \u201cWoe to you, when all people speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Proverbs 10:22\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\n<strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The blessing of the LORD makes rich, <span class=\"poetry2\">and he adds no sorrow with it.<\/span><\/strong> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DIFFERENT VALUES Luke 6:17-26 \u00a0by Rev.
