And he said to him,\u00a0\u201cFollow me.\u201d 28 And leaving everything, he rose and followed him.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>The Guest of an Outcast<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Luke 5: 29-32<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>29 And Levi made him a great feast in his house, and there was a large company of tax collectors and others reclining at table with them. 30 And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying, \u201cWhy do you eat and drink with tax Collectors and sinners?\u201d 31 And Jesus answered them, \u201cThose who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>The Happy Company<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Luke 5: 33- 35<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>33 And they said to him, \u201cThe disciples of John fast often and offer prayers, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink\u201d 34 And Jesus said to them, &#8220;Can you make wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? 35\u00a0The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and\u00a0then they will fast in those days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>The Dynamically New<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Luke 5: 36-39<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>36 He also told them a parable: \u201cNo one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. If he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old. 37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. 38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins. 39 And no one after drinking old wine desires new, for he says, \u2018The old is good.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><b>Philippians 3: 7-9<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith\u2014<\/p>\n<h3><b>Hebrews 8: 13<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>13\u00a0In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete.
