Richard Jones<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-9204-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/06-15-2025.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/06-15-2025.mp3\">http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/06-15-2025.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>REBELLION<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Luke 15:11-13<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>11\u00a0 And he said, \u201cThere was a man who had two sons. 12\u00a0 And the younger of them said to his father, \u2018Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.\u2019 And he divided his property between them. 13\u00a0 Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>REVERSAL<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Luke 15:14-16<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>14\u00a0 And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need. 15\u00a0 So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs. 16\u00a0 And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>REPENTANCE<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Luke 15:17-19<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>17\u00a0 \u201cBut when he came to himself, he said, \u2018How many of my father\u2019s hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger! 18\u00a0 I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, \u201cFather, I have sinned against heaven and before you. 19\u00a0 I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Psalm 51:17<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>17\u00a0 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ezekiel 18:23<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>23\u00a0 Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord GOD, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>RESTORING<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Luke 15:20-24<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>20\u00a0 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21\u00a0 And the son said to him, \u2018Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.\u2019 22\u00a0 But the father said to his servants, \u2018Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. 23\u00a0 And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. 24\u00a0 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.\u2019 And they began to celebrate.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Deuteronomy 21:18-21<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>18\u00a0 \u201cIf a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them, 19\u00a0 then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives, 20\u00a0 and they shall say to the elders of his city, \u2018This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.\u2019 21\u00a0 Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Psalm 103:10-14<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>10\u00a0 He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. 11\u00a0 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; 12\u00a0 as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. 13\u00a0 As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him. 14\u00a0 For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Psalm 143:10<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>10\u00a0 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>REFUSAL<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Luke 15:25-30<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>25\u00a0 \u201cNow his older son was in the field, and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26\u00a0 And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. 27\u00a0 And he said to him, \u2018Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and sound.\u2019 28\u00a0 But he was angry and refused to go in. His father came out and entreated him, 29\u00a0 but he answered his father, \u2018Look, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might celebrate with my friends. 30\u00a0 But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your property with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>REJOICING<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Luke 15:31-32<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>31\u00a0 And he said to him, \u2018Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. 32\u00a0 It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Luke 15:7<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>7\u00a0 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE PRODIGAL&#8217;S DAD Luke 15: 11-32 \u00a0by Rev.
