Kings shall shut their mouths because of Him, for that which has not been told them they see, and that which they have not heard they understand.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Isaiah 50: 6<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>I gave my back to those who strike, and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard; I hid not my face from disgrace and spitting.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Psalms 22: 14-18<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>14I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted within my breast; 15 my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to my jaws; you lay me in the dust of death. 16 For dogs encompass me; a company of evildoers encircles me; they have pierced my hands and feet\u201417 I can count all my bones\u2014they stare and gloat over me; 18 they divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>The Sorrowing Servant<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Isaiah 53: 1-3<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>1 Who has believed what He has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? 2 For He grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; He had no form or majesty that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him. 3 He was despised and rejected by\u00a0 men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and one from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>The Smitten Servant<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Isaiah 53: 4-6<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>4 Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.5 But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned\u2014every one\u2014to his own way and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>1 Peter 2: 24<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>2 Corinthians 5: 21<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>21 For our sake He made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>The Silent Servant<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Isaiah 53: 7-9<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>7 He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so He opened not his mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away; and as for His generation, who considered that He was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? 9 And they made His grave with the wicked and with a rich man in His death, although He had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Acts 8: 26-35<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, \u201cRise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.\u201d This is a desert place. 27 And he rose and went. And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the Spirit said to Philip, \u201cGo over and join this chariot.\u201d 30 So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, \u201cDo you understand what you are reading?\u201d 31 And he said, \u201cHow can I, unless someone guides me?\u201d And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 Now the passage of the Scripture that he was reading was this: \u201cLike a sheep He was led to the slaughter and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so He opens not his mouth. 33 In His humiliation justice was denied him. Who can describe His generation? For his life is taken away from the earth.\u201d34 And the eunuch said to Philip, \u201cAbout whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?\u201d 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>The Satisfied Servant<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Isaiah 53: 10-12<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>10 Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush Him; He has put him to grief when His soul makes an offering for guilt, He shall see his offspring; He shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.11 Out of the anguish of His soul He shall see and be satisfied; by His knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and He shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet He bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Philippians 3: 7-9<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith\u2014<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE GOSPEL OF ISAIAH Isaiah 52:13 &#8211; 53:12 \u00a0by Rev.
