Richard Jones<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-8352-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/12-31-2023.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/12-31-2023.mp3\">http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/12-31-2023.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>COMMITTED PARENTS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke 2:22-24 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>22\u00a0 And when the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23\u00a0 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, \u201cEvery male who first opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord\u201d) 24\u00a0 and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the Law of the Lord, \u201ca pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>CERTAIN PRIVILEGE<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke 2:25-33 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>25\u00a0 Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26\u00a0 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord\u2019s Christ.\u00a0 27\u00a0 And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law,\u00a0 28\u00a0 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, 29\u00a0 \u201cLord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word;\u00a030\u00a0 for my eyes have seen your salvation 31\u00a0 that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32\u00a0 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.\u201d 33\u00a0 And his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Isaiah 40:1-2 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1\u00a0 Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. 2\u00a0 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and cry to her that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received from the LORD\u2019s hand double for all her sins.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Isaiah 60:1-3 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1\u00a0 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. 2\u00a0 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. 3\u00a0 And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>CHALLENGING PROPHECY<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke 2:34-35 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>34\u00a0 And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, \u201cBehold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed 35\u00a0 (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Isaiah 8:14-15 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>14\u00a0 And he will become a sanctuary and a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to both houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.\u00a0 15\u00a0 And many shall stumble on it. They shall fall and be broken; they shall be snared and taken.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>COMFORTING PROPHETESS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke 2:36-38 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>36\u00a0 And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, 37\u00a0 and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day. 38\u00a0 And coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew 25:31 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>31\u00a0 \u201cWhen the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>40 DAYS AFTER CHRISTMAS Luke 2: 22-38 \u00a0by Rev.
