THE JOY OF GREAT EXAMPLE<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

Philippians 2:1-11<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A HUMBLE HEART<\/u>
\n<\/u>Philippians 2:1-4 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n1\u00a0 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, 2\u00a0 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3\u00a0 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4\u00a0 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.<\/p>\n

Matthew 20:25-28 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n25\u00a0 But Jesus called them to him and said, \u201cYou know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 26\u00a0 It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, 27\u00a0 and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, 28\u00a0 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.\u201d<\/p>\n

John 13:1-5 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n1\u00a0 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
\n2\u00a0 During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon\u2019s son, to betray him, 3\u00a0 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God, 4\u00a0 rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. 5\u00a0 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples\u2019 feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.<\/p>\n

AN AWESTRUCK HEART<\/u>
\n<\/u>Philippians 2:5-8 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n5\u00a0 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6\u00a0 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7\u00a0 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8\u00a0 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.<\/p>\n

John 1:1-3 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n1\u00a0 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2\u00a0 He was in the beginning with God. 3\u00a0 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.<\/p>\n

Hebrews 1:1-3 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n1\u00a0 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2\u00a0 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3\u00a0 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,<\/p>\n

Colossians 1:15-17 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n15\u00a0 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16\u00a0 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities\u2014all things were created through him and for him. 17\u00a0 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.<\/p>\n

A WORSHIPING HEART<\/u>
\n<\/u>Philippians 2:9-11 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n9\u00a0 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10\u00a0 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11\u00a0 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.<\/p>\n

Matthew 28:18 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n18\u00a0 And Jesus came and said to them, \u201cAll authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.<\/p>\n

Romans 10:8-10 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n8\u00a0 But what does it say? \u201cThe word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart\u201d (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim);
\n9\u00a0 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10\u00a0 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.<\/p>\n
