PREACHING TO SKELETONS<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

Ezekiel 37: 1-14<\/strong><\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

THE DRY BONES<\/u>
\n<\/u>Ezekiel 37:1-3 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n1\u00a0 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones.
\n2\u00a0 And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry.
\n3\u00a0 And he said to me, \u201cSon of man, can these bones live?\u201d And I answered, \u201cO Lord GOD, you know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 28:25-26 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n25\u00a0 \u201cThe LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them. And you shall be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.
\n26\u00a0 And your dead body shall be food for all birds of the air and for the beasts of the earth, and there shall be no one to frighten them away.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

THE DEAD SOLDIERS
\n<\/u>Ezekiel 37:4-8 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n4\u00a0 Then he said to me, \u201cProphesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. 5\u00a0 Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. 6\u00a0 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the LORD.\u201d 7\u00a0 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8\u00a0 And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them.<\/p>\n

THE DELIVERED ARMY<\/u>
\n<\/u>Ezekiel 37:9-10 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n9\u00a0 Then he said to me, \u201cProphesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.\u201d 10\u00a0 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

THE DYNAMIC MESSAGE
\n<\/u>Ezekiel 37:11-14 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n11\u00a0 Then he said to me, \u201cSon of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, \u2018Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.\u2019
\n12\u00a0 Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel. 13\u00a0 And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people. 14\u00a0 And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeremiah 31:31-34 (ESV) <\/b>
\n31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0\u201cBehold, the days are coming, declares the LORD<\/span>, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,
\n32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD<\/span>.
\n33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD<\/span>: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
\n34 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, \u2018Know the LORD<\/span>,\u2019 for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD<\/span>. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

THE DEPENDABLE TRUTH<\/u> <\/strong>
\nLuke 1:26-38 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n26\u00a0 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27\u00a0 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin\u2019s name was Mary. 28\u00a0 And he came to her and said, \u201cGreetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!\u201d 29\u00a0 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. 30\u00a0 And the angel said to her, \u201cDo not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31\u00a0 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.32\u00a0 He will be great and will be\u00a0 called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33\u00a0 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.\u201d 34\u00a0 And Mary said to the angel, \u201cHow will this be, since I am a virgin?\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a035\u00a0 And the angel answered her, \u201cThe Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy\u2014the Son of God.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 36\u00a0 And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. 37\u00a0 For nothing will be impossible with God.\u201d 38\u00a0 And Mary said, \u201cBehold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.\u201d And the angel departed from her.<\/p>\n

2 Corinthians 1:8-11 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n8\u00a0 For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. 9\u00a0 Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. 10\u00a0 He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again. 11\u00a0 You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.<\/p>\n
