Richard Jones<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>TOUCHING THE TRUTH<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>1 John chapter One<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-7463-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/10-02-2022.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/10-02-2022.mp3\">http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/10-02-2022.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>THE TRUTH AND THE TESTIMONY<br \/>\n<\/u>1 John 1:1-4 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n1\u00a0 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life\u2014 2\u00a0 the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us\u20143\u00a0 that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4\u00a0 And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<u>John 1: 1-5\u00a0 (Gospel)<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n1\u00a0 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2\u00a0 He was in the beginning with God. 3\u00a0 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4\u00a0 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5\u00a0 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>THE LIGHT AND THE LIE<br \/>\n<\/u>1 John 1:5-6 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n5\u00a0 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.<br \/>\n6\u00a0 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1 Thessalonians 5:5 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n5\u00a0 For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ephesians 5:6-7 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n6\u00a0 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.<br \/>\n7\u00a0 Therefore do not become partners with them;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>THE DELUSION AND THE DECLARATION<\/u><u><br \/>\n<\/u>1 John 1:7-10 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n7\u00a0 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8\u00a0 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9\u00a0 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10\u00a0 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Acts 20:28-32 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n28\u00a0 Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. 29\u00a0 I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; 30\u00a0 and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. 31\u00a0 Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears. 32\u00a0 And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke 18:9-14 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n9\u00a0 He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt:<br \/>\n10\u00a0 \u201cTwo men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.<br \/>\n11\u00a0 The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: \u2018God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 12\u00a0 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.\u2019<br \/>\n13\u00a0 But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, \u2018God, be merciful to me, a sinner!\u2019<br \/>\n14\u00a0 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proverbs 28:13 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n13\u00a0 Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Psalm 51:17 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n17\u00a0 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Letters From John (Sermon series) \u00a0by Rev.
