Richard Jones<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>AFTER THE RESURRECTION<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>John chapter 21<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-7385-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/08-14-2022.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/08-14-2022.mp3\">http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/08-14-2022.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>BE FISHERMEN &#8211; OBEY HIM<br \/>\n<\/u>John 21:1-8 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n1\u00a0 After this Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias, and he revealed himself in this way. 2\u00a0 Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.<br \/>\n3\u00a0 Simon Peter said to them, \u201cI am going fishing.\u201d They said to him, \u201cWe will go with you.\u201d They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. 4\u00a0 Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5\u00a0 Jesus said to them, \u201cChildren, do you have any fish?\u201d They answered him, \u201cNo.\u201d 6\u00a0 He said to them, \u201cCast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.\u201d So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish. 7\u00a0 That disciple whom Jesus loved therefore said to Peter, \u201cIt is the Lord!\u201d When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment, for he was stripped for work, and threw himself into the sea. 8\u00a0 The other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew 28:5-7 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n5\u00a0 But the angel said to the women, \u201cDo not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.<br \/>\n6\u00a0 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.<br \/>\n7\u00a0 Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>BE PARTNERS &#8211; SERVE HIM<\/u><u><br \/>\n<\/u>John 21:9-14 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n9\u00a0 When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. 10\u00a0 Jesus said to them, \u201cBring some of the fish that you have just caught.\u201d 11\u00a0 So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn. 12\u00a0 Jesus said to them, \u201cCome and have breakfast.\u201d Now none of the disciples dared ask him, \u201cWho are you?\u201d They knew it was the Lord. 13\u00a0 Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish. 14\u00a0 This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>BE SHEPHERDS &#8211; LOVE HIM<\/u><u><br \/>\n<\/u>John 21:15-19 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n15\u00a0 When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, \u201cSimon, son of John, do you love me more than these?\u201d He said to him, \u201cYes, Lord; you know that I love you.\u201d He said to him, \u201cFeed my lambs.\u201d 16\u00a0 He said to him a second time, \u201cSimon, son of John, do you love me?\u201d He said to him, \u201cYes, Lord; you know that I love you.\u201d He said to him, \u201cTend my sheep.\u201d 17\u00a0 He said to him the third time, \u201cSimon, son of John, do you love me?\u201d Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, \u201cDo you love me?\u201d and he said to him, \u201cLord, you know everything; you know that I love you.\u201d Jesus said to him, \u201cFeed my sheep.<br \/>\n18\u00a0 Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.\u201d 19\u00a0 (This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he said to him, \u201cFollow me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew 26:30-33 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n30\u00a0 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. 31\u00a0 Then Jesus said to them, \u201cYou will all fall away because of me this night. For it is written, \u2018I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.\u2019 32\u00a0 But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.\u201d 33\u00a0 Peter answered him, \u201cThough they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>1 Peter 4:12-14 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n12\u00a0 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.<br \/>\n13\u00a0 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ\u2019s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. 14\u00a0 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>BE DISCIPLES &#8211; FOLLOW HIM<br \/>\n<\/u>John 21:20-25 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n20\u00a0 Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them, the one who also had leaned back against him during the supper and had said, \u201cLord, who is it that is going to betray you?\u201d 21\u00a0 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, \u201cLord, what about this man?\u201d 22\u00a0 Jesus said to him, \u201cIf it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!\u201d 23\u00a0 So the saying spread abroad among the brothers that this disciple was not to die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he was not to die, but, \u201cIf it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you?\u201d 24\u00a0 This is the disciple who is bearing witness about these things, and who has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true.<br \/>\n25\u00a0 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.<\/p>\n<p><strong>John 20:30-31 (ESV)<\/strong><br \/>\n30\u00a0 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31\u00a0 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to John (Sermon series) \u00a0by Rev.
