THE JOY OF JESUS
\n<\/u>John 15:9-11 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n9\u00a0 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.
\n10\u00a0 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father\u2019s commandments and abide in his love.
\n11\u00a0 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.<\/p>\n

THE COMMANDMENT OF JESUS<\/u>
\n<\/u>John 15:12-17 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n12\u00a0 \u201cThis is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
\n13\u00a0 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
\n14\u00a0 You are my friends if you do what I command you.
\n15\u00a0 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
\n16\u00a0 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
\n17\u00a0 These things I command you, so that you will love one another.<\/p>\n

1 John 3:23 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n23\u00a0 And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.<\/p>\n

THE REJECTION OF JESUS<\/u>
\n<\/u>John 15:18-25 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n18\u00a0 \u201cIf the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.
\n19\u00a0 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
\n20\u00a0 Remember the word that I said to you: \u2018A servant is not greater than his master.\u2019 If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. 21\u00a0 But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. 22\u00a0 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23\u00a0 Whoever hates me hates my Father also. 24\u00a0 If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. 25\u00a0 But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: \u2018They hated me without a cause.\u2019<\/p>\n

THE MESSAGE OF JESUS<\/u>
\n<\/u>John 15:26-27 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n26\u00a0 \u201cBut when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.
\n27\u00a0 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.<\/p>\n

THE CHALLENGE OF JESUS<\/u>
\n<\/u>John 16:1-4 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n1\u00a0 \u201cI have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away. 2\u00a0 They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God. 3\u00a0 And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me. 4\u00a0 But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told them to you. \u201cI did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you.<\/p>\n

Matthew 5:11-12 (ESV)<\/strong>
\n11\u00a0 \u201cBlessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
\n12\u00a0 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.<\/p>\n
