Richard Jones<\/h2>\n<!--[if lt IE 9]><script>document.createElement('audio');<\/script><![endif]-->\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-7050-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/12-26-2021.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/12-26-2021.mp3\">http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/12-26-2021.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>THREE CEREMONIES<\/u><\/strong> <u><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/u>Luke 2:21-24 (ESV)<br \/>\n21\u00a0 And at the end of eight days, when he was circumcised, he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb. 22\u00a0 And when the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23\u00a0 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, \u201cEvery male who first opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord\u201d) 24\u00a0 and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the Law of the Lord, \u201ca pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Leviticus 12:6-8 (ESV)<br \/>\n6\u00a0 \u201cAnd when the days of her purifying are completed, whether for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring to the priest at the entrance of the tent of meeting a lamb a year old for a burnt offering, and a pigeon or a turtledove for a sin offering, 7\u00a0 and he shall offer it before the LORD and make atonement for her. Then she shall be clean from the flow of her blood. This is the law for her who bears a child, either male or female. 8\u00a0 And if she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. And the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Exodus 13:1-2 (ESV)<br \/>\n1\u00a0 The LORD said to Moses,<br \/>\n2\u00a0 \u201cConsecrate to me all the firstborn. Whatever is the first to open the womb among the people of Israel, both of man and of beast, is mine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>ONE PROMISE<\/u><\/strong><u><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/u>Luke 2:25-32 (ESV)<br \/>\n25\u00a0 Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26\u00a0 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord\u2019s Christ. 27\u00a0 And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law, 28\u00a0 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,\u00a0 29\u00a0 \u201cLord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word; 30\u00a0 for my eyes have seen your salvation 31\u00a0 that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32\u00a0 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>THREE IMAGES<\/u><\/strong><u><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/u>Luke 2:33-35 (ESV)<br \/>\n33\u00a0 And his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him.<br \/>\n34\u00a0 And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, \u201cBehold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed<br \/>\n35\u00a0 (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luke 20:17-18 (ESV)<br \/>\n17\u00a0 But he looked directly at them and said, \u201cWhat then is this that is written: \u201c\u2018The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone\u2019?<br \/>\n18\u00a0 Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, and when it falls on anyone, it will crush him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>1 Peter 2:7-8 (ESV)<br \/>\n7\u00a0 So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, \u201cThe stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,\u201d<br \/>\n8\u00a0 and \u201cA stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.\u201d They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.<\/p>\n<p>1 Peter 2:6 (ESV)<br \/>\n6\u00a0 For it stands in Scripture: \u201cBehold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Romans 9:33 (ESV)<br \/>\n33\u00a0 as it is written, \u201cBehold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>ONE WITNESS<\/u><\/strong><u><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/u>Luke 2:36-38 (ESV)<br \/>\n36\u00a0 And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, 37\u00a0 and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day. 38\u00a0 And coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>THREE GROWTHS<\/u><\/strong><u><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/u>Luke 2:39-40 (ESV)<br \/>\n39\u00a0 And when they had performed everything according to the Law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth.<br \/>\n40\u00a0 And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom.
