Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/rec-02-28-21.mp3\">rec 02-28-21<\/a><\/p>\n<h1><strong>BACK TO PROMISES<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h1><strong>Genesis 35: 1-21<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2><strong>TIME TO GET SERIOUS Genesis 35: 1-4<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>God said to Jacob, \u201cArise, go up to Bethel and dwell there. Make an altar there to the God who appeared to you\u00a0when you fled from your brother Esau.\u201d <strong>2 <\/strong>So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, \u201cPut away the foreign gods that are among you and purify yourselves and change your garments. <strong>3 <\/strong>Then let us arise and go up to Bethel, so that I may make there an altar to the God who answers me in the day of my distress and has been with me wherever I have gone.\u201d <strong>4 <\/strong>So they gave to Jacob all the foreign gods that they had, and the rings that were in their ears. Jacob hid them under the terebinth tree that was near Shechem.<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Isaiah 64: 6<\/h2>\n<h2>We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Isaiah 61: 10<\/h2>\n<h2>I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Ephesians 4: 17-24<\/h2>\n<h2>Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. <strong>18 <\/strong>They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. <strong>19 <\/strong>They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. <strong>20 <\/strong>But that is not the way you learned Christ!\u201d\u201d <strong>21 <\/strong>assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, <strong>22 <\/strong>to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, <strong>23 <\/strong>and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, <strong>24 <\/strong>and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Hebrews 4: 14-16<\/h2>\n<h2>Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. <strong>15 <\/strong>For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. <strong>16 <\/strong>Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>TIME TO GET MOVING Genesis 35: 5-8<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>And as they journeyed, a terror from God fell upon the cities that were around them, so that they did not pursue the sons of Jacob. <strong>6 <\/strong>And Jacob came to Luz (that is, Bethel), which is in the land of Canaan, he and all the people who were with him, <strong>7 <\/strong>and there he built an altar and called the place El-bethel, because there God had revealed himself to him when he fled from his brother. <strong>8 <\/strong>And Deborah, Rebekah&#8217;s nurse, died, and she was buried under an oak below Bethel. So he called its name Allon-bacuth<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Isaiah 41: 8-10<\/h2>\n<h2>But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham, my friend;<br \/>\n<strong>9 <\/strong>you whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest corners, saying to you, \u201cYou are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off\u201d; <strong>10 <\/strong>fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>TIME TO GET QUIET Genesis 35: 9-15<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>God appeared to Jacob again, when he came from Paddan-aram, and blessed him. <strong>10 <\/strong>And God said to him, \u201cYour name is Jacob; no longer shall your name be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name.\u201d So he called his name Israel. <strong>11 <\/strong>And God said to him, \u201cI am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations shall come from you, and kings shall come from your own body. <strong>12 <\/strong>The land that I gave to Abraham and Isaac I will give to you, and I will give the land to your offspring after you.\u201d <strong>13 <\/strong>Then God went up from him in the place where he had spoken with him. <strong>14 <\/strong>And Jacob\u00a0set up a pillar in the place where he had spoken with him, a pillar of stone. He poured out a drink offering on it and poured oil on it. <strong>15 <\/strong>So Jacob called the name of the place where God had spoken with him Bethel.<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>TIME TO GET HOPE Genesis 35: 16-21<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>Then they journeyed from Bethel. When they were still some distance from Ephrath, Rachel went into labor, and she had hard labor. <strong>17 <\/strong>And when her labor was at its hardest, the midwife said to her, \u201cDo not fear, for you have another son.\u201d <strong>18 <\/strong>And as her soul was departing (for she was dying), she called his name Ben-oni; but his father called him Benjamin. <strong>19 <\/strong>So Rachel died, and she was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem), <strong>20 <\/strong>and Jacob set up a pillar over her tomb. It is the pillar of Rachel&#8217;s tomb, which is there to this day. <strong>21 <\/strong>Israel journeyed on and pitched his tent beyond the tower of Eder.<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>John 1: 12<\/h2>\n<h2>But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,<\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon Message By Rev.
