Richard Jones<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/rec-02-14-21.mp3\">rec 02-14-21<\/a><\/p>\n<h1><strong>Jacob&#8217;s Journey Series:<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h1><strong>THE CRIPPLING THAT CROWNS<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h1><strong>Genesis Chapter 32<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>JACOB BEHOLDING Genesis 32: 1-8<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. <strong>2 <\/strong>And when Jacob saw them he said, \u201cThis is God&#8217;s camp!\u201d So he called the name of that place Mahanaim. <strong>3 <\/strong>And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother in the land of Seir, the country of Edom, <strong>4 <\/strong>instructing them, \u201cThus you shall say to my lord Esau: Thus says your servant Jacob, \u201d\u02dcI have sojourned with Laban and stayed until now. <strong>5 <\/strong>I have oxen, donkeys, flocks, male servants, and female servants. I have sent to tell my lord, in order that I may find favor in your sight.\u201d\u2122\u201d<strong>6 <\/strong>And the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, \u201cWe came to your brother Esau, and he is coming to meet you, and there are four hundred men with him.\u201d <strong>7 <\/strong>Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed. He divided the people who were with him, and the flocks and herds and camels, into two camps, <strong>8 <\/strong>thinking, \u201cIf Esau comes to the one camp and attacks it, then the camp that is left will escape.\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>JACOB PRAYING Genesis 32: 9-12<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And Jacob said, \u201cO God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, O Lord who said to me, \u201d\u02dcReturn to your country and to your kindred, that I may do you good,\u201d\u2122 <strong>10 <\/strong>I am not worthy of the least of all the deeds of steadfast love and all the faithfulness that you have shown to your servant, for with only my staff I crossed this Jordan, and now I have become two camps. <strong>11 <\/strong>Please deliver me from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau, for I fear him, that he may come and attack me, the mothers with the children. <strong>12 <\/strong>But you said, \u201d\u02dcI will surely do you good, and make your offspring as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.\u201d\u2122\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Psalm 56: 3-4<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. <strong>4 <\/strong>In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust;\u00a0I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Psalm 112: 6-8<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. <strong>7 <\/strong>He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. <strong>8 <\/strong>His heart is steady; he will not be afraid,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>JACOB SCHEMING Genesis 32: 13-21<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">So he stayed there that night, and from what he had with him he took\u00a0a present for his brother Esau, <strong>14 <\/strong>two hundred female goats and twenty male goats, two hundred ewes and twenty rams, <strong>15 <\/strong>thirty milking camels and their calves, forty cows and ten bulls, twenty female donkeys and ten male donkeys. <strong>16 <\/strong>These he handed over to his servants, every drove by itself, and said to his servants, \u201cPass on ahead of me and put a space between drove and drove.\u201d <strong>17 <\/strong>He instructed the first, \u201cWhen Esau my brother meets you and asks you, \u201d\u02dcTo whom do you belong? Where are you going? And whose are these ahead of you?\u201d\u2122 <strong>18 <\/strong>then you shall say, \u201d\u02dcThey belong to your servant Jacob. They are a present sent to my lord Esau. And moreover, he is behind us.\u201d\u2122\u201d <strong>19 <\/strong>He likewise instructed the second and the third and all who followed the droves, \u201cYou shall say the same thing to Esau when you find him, <strong>20 <\/strong>and you shall say, \u201d\u02dcMoreover, your servant Jacob is behind us.\u201d\u2122\u201d For he thought, \u201cI may appease him with the present that goes ahead of me, and afterward I shall see his face. Perhaps he will accept me.\u201d <strong>21 <\/strong>So the present passed on ahead of him, and he himself stayed that night in the camp.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>JACOB WRESTLING Genesis 32: 22-32<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The same night he arose and took his two wives, his two female servants, and his eleven children, and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. <strong>23 <\/strong>He took them and sent them across the stream, and everything else that he had. <strong>24 <\/strong>And Jacob was left alone. And a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day. <strong>25 <\/strong>When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he touched his hip socket, and Jacob&#8217;s hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him. <strong>26 <\/strong>Then he said, \u201cLet me go, for the day has broken.\u201d But Jacob said, \u201cI will not let you go unless you bless me.\u201d <strong>27 <\/strong>And he said to him, \u201cWhat is your name?\u201d And he said, \u201cJacob.\u201d <strong>28 <\/strong>Then he said, \u201cYour name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.\u201d <strong>29 <\/strong>Then Jacob asked him, \u201cPlease tell me your name.\u201d But he said, \u201cWhy is it that you ask my name?\u201d And there he blessed him. <strong>30 <\/strong>So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, saying, \u201cFor I have seen God face to face, and yet my life has been delivered.\u201d <strong>31 <\/strong>The sun rose upon him as he passed Penuel, limping because of his hip. <strong>32 <\/strong>Therefore to this day the people of Israel do not eat the sinew of the thigh that is on the hip socket, because he touched the socket of Jacob&#8217;s hip on the sinew of the thigh.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hosea 12: 4<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He strove with the angel and prevailed; he wept and sought his favor. He met God at Bethel,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">and there God spoke with us\u201d\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 Corinthians 12: 7-10<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. <strong>8 <\/strong>Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. <strong>9 <\/strong>But he said to me, \u201cMy grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.\u201d Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. <strong>10 <\/strong>For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities.
