Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/rec-1-10-21.mp3\">rec 1-10-21<\/a><\/p>\n<h1><strong>Jacob&#8217;s Journey Series:<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h1><strong>Battle Before Birth<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h1><strong>Genesis 24: 62-67; 25: 19-34; 26: 34-35<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>TWO PROMISES Genesis 24: 62-67<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Now Isaac had returned from\u00a0Beer-lahai-roi and was dwelling in the Negeb.\u00a0<strong>63\u00a0<\/strong>And Isaac went out\u00a0to meditate in the field toward evening. And he lifted up his eyes and saw, and behold, there were camels coming.\u00a0<strong>64\u00a0<\/strong>And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she dismounted from the camel\u00a0<strong>65\u00a0<\/strong>and said to the servant, \u201cWho is that man, walking in the field to meet us?\u201d The servant said, \u201cIt is my master.\u201d So she took her veil and covered herself <strong>66\u00a0<\/strong>And the servant told Isaac all the things that he had done.\u00a0<strong>67\u00a0<\/strong>Then Isaac brought her into the tent of Sarah his mother and took Rebekah, and she became his wife, and he loved her. So Isaac was\u00a0comforted after his mother&#8217;s\u00a0death.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>TWO PEOPLES Genesis 25: 19-23<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>19\u00a0<\/strong>These are the generations of Isaac, Abraham&#8217;s son:\u00a0Abraham fathered Isaac,\u00a0<strong>20\u00a0<\/strong>and Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah,\u00a0the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean of\u00a0Paddan-aram,\u00a0the sister of Laban the Aramean, to be his wife.\u00a0<strong>21\u00a0<\/strong>And Isaac prayed to the\u00a0Lord\u00a0for his wife, because she was barren. And\u00a0the\u00a0Lord\u00a0granted his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived.\u00a0<strong>22\u00a0<\/strong>The children struggled together within her, and she said, \u201cIf it is thus, why is this happening to me?\u201d So she went\u00a0to inquire of the\u00a0Lord.\u00a0<strong>23\u00a0<\/strong>And the\u00a0Lord\u00a0said to her, \u201cTwo nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you shall be divided; the one shall be stronger than the other, the older shall serve the younger.\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>TWO PASSIONS Genesis 25: 24-28<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When her days to give birth were completed, behold, there were twins in her womb.\u00a0<strong>25\u00a0<\/strong>The first came out red,\u00a0all his body like a hairy cloak, so they called his name Esau.\u00a0<strong>26\u00a0<\/strong>Afterward his brother came out with\u00a0his hand holding Esau&#8217;s heel, so\u00a0his name was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them. <strong>27\u00a0<\/strong>When the boys grew up, Esau was\u00a0a skillful hunter, a man of the field, while Jacob was a quiet man,\u00a0dwelling in tents.\u00a0<strong>28\u00a0<\/strong>Isaac loved Esau because\u00a0he ate of his game, but Rebekah loved Jacob.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>TWO PRIORITIES Genesis 25: 29-34<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>30\u00a0<\/strong>And Esau said to Jacob, \u201cLet me eat some of that red stew, for I am exhausted!\u201d (Therefore his name was called Edom. <strong>31\u00a0<\/strong>Jacob said, \u201cSell me your birthright now.\u201d<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>32\u00a0<\/strong>Esau said, \u201cI am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?\u201d<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>33\u00a0<\/strong>Jacob said, \u201cSwear to me now.\u201d So he swore to him and\u00a0sold his birthright to Jacob.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>34\u00a0<\/strong>Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>TWO PROBLEMS Genesis 26: 34-35<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When Esau was forty years old, he took\u00a0Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite to be his wife, and Basemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite,\u00a0<strong>35\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0they made life bitter for Isaac and Rebekah.<\/span><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon by Rev.
