TAKE OFF THE GRAVE CLOTHES<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Ephesians 4: 17-32<\/strong><\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

THE ADMONITION Ephesians 4: 17-19<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Now this I say and\u00a0testify in the Lord,\u00a0that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do,\u00a0in the futility of their minds.\u00a018\u00a0<\/strong>They\u00a0are darkened in their understanding,\u00a0alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to\u00a0their hardness of heart.\u00a019\u00a0<\/strong>They\u00a0have become callous and\u00a0have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.<\/span><\/h3>\n

1 Corinthians 2: 14<\/span><\/h3>\n

The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are\u00a0folly to him, and\u00a0he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Romans 1: 18-22<\/span><\/h3>\n

For\u00a0the wrath of God\u00a0is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.\u00a019\u00a0<\/strong>For what can be\u00a0known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.\u00a020\u00a0<\/strong>For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature,\u00a0have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.\u00a021\u00a0<\/strong>For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they\u00a0became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.\u00a022\u00a0<\/strong>Claiming to be wise, they became fools,<\/span><\/h3>\n

Romans 1: 24-28<\/span><\/h3>\n

Therefore\u00a0God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to\u00a0the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,\u00a025\u00a0<\/strong>because they exchanged the truth about God for\u00a0a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator,\u00a0who is blessed forever! Amen. 26\u00a0<\/strong>For this reason\u00a0God gave them up to\u00a0dishonorable passions. For their women exchange natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;\u00a027\u00a0<\/strong>and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another,\u00a0men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.28\u00a0<\/strong>And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God,\u00a0God gave them up to\u00a0a debased mind to do\u00a0what ought not to be done.<\/span><\/h3>\n

THE ARGUMENT Ephesians 4: 20-24<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

But that is not the way you\u00a0learned Christ!\u201d\u201d\u00a021\u00a0<\/strong>assuming that\u00a0you have heard about him and\u00a0were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus,\u00a022\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0put off\u00a0your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through\u00a0deceitful desires,\u00a023\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,\u00a024\u00a0<\/strong>and to put on\u00a0the new self,\u00a0created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.<\/span><\/h3>\n

1 John 5: 20<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u00a0And we know that the Son of God has come and\u00a0has given us understanding, so that we may know\u00a0him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and\u00a0eternal life.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Galatians 2: 20<\/span><\/h3>\n

I have been\u00a0crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives\u00a0in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God,\u00a0who loved me and\u00a0gave himself for me.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Romans 12: 1-2<\/span><\/h3>\n

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God,\u00a0to present your bodies\u00a0as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2\u00a0<\/strong>Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by\u00a0the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may\u00a0discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.<\/span><\/h3>\n

2 Corinthians 5: 17<\/span><\/h3>\n

Therefore, if anyone is\u00a0in Christ, he is\u00a0a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.<\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

THE APPLICATION Ephesians 4: 25-30<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you\u00a0speak the truth with his neighbor, for\u00a0we are members one of another.\u00a026\u00a0<\/strong>Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,\u00a027\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0give no opportunity to the devil.\u00a028\u00a0<\/strong>Let the thief no longer steal, but rather\u00a0let him labor,\u00a0doing honest work with his own hands, so\u00a0that he may have something to share with anyone in need.\u00a029\u00a0<\/strong>Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give\u00a0grace to those who hear.\u00a030\u00a0<\/strong>And\u00a0do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,\u00a0by whom you were sealed for the day of\u00a0redemption.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Colossians 4: 6<\/span><\/h3>\n

Let your speech always\u00a0be gracious,\u00a0seasoned with salt,\u00a0so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.<\/span><\/h3>\n

THE APPEAL Ephesians 4: 31-32<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.\u00a032\u00a0<\/strong>Be kind to one another, tenderhearted,\u00a0forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.<\/span><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
