Ephesians 4: 1-16<\/strong><\/h1>\n

THE GRACE OF UNITY\u00a0 \u00a0Ephesians 4: 1-3<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,\u00a02\u00a0<\/strong>with all\u00a0humility and\u00a0gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,\u00a03\u00a0<\/strong>eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.<\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

THE GROUND OF UNITY\u00a0 \u00a0Ephesians 4: 4-6<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

There is one body and one Spirit\u201d\u201djust as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call\u201d\u201d\u00a05\u00a0<\/strong>one Lord,\u00a0one faith, one baptism,\u00a06\u00a0<\/strong>one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Jude Vs. 3<\/span><\/h3>\n

Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.<\/span><\/h3>\n

2 Timothy 2: 2<\/span><\/h3>\n

and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses\u00a0entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.<\/span><\/h3>\n

1 Corinthians 12: 12-13<\/span><\/h3>\n

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.\u00a013\u00a0<\/strong>For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body\u201d\u201dJews or Greeks, slaves or free\u201d\u201dand all were made to drink of one Spirit.<\/span><\/h3>\n

THE GIFTS OF UNITY\u00a0 \u00a0Ephesians 4: 7-12<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.\u00a08\u00a0<\/strong>Therefore it says,\u201cWhen he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.\u201d 9 <\/strong>(In saying, \u201cHe ascended,\u201d what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? 10\u00a0<\/strong>He who descended is the one who also ascended\u00a0far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)\u00a011\u00a0<\/strong>And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12\u00a0<\/strong>to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,<\/span><\/h3>\n

Philippians 2: 5-11<\/span><\/h3>\n

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6\u00a0<\/strong>who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7\u00a0<\/strong>but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.\u00a08\u00a0<\/strong>And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.\u00a09\u00a0<\/strong>Therefore God has\u00a0highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,\u00a010\u00a0<\/strong>so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,\u00a011\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Ephesians 2: 20<\/span><\/h3>\n

built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,<\/span><\/h3>\n

1 Corinthians 14: 29-33<\/span><\/h3>\n

Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said.\u00a030\u00a0<\/strong>If a revelation is made to another sitting there, let the first be silent.\u00a031\u00a0<\/strong>For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged,\u00a032\u00a0<\/strong>and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.\u00a033\u00a0<\/strong>For God is not a God of\u00a0confusion but of peace.<\/span><\/h3>\n

As in all the churches of the saints,<\/span><\/h3>\n

THE GROWTH OF UNITY\u00a0 \u00a0 Ephesians 4: 13-15<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of\u00a0the fullness of Christ,\u00a014\u00a0<\/strong>so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.\u00a015\u00a0<\/strong>Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,<\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

THE GOAL OF UNITY\u00a0 \u00a0 Ephesians 4: 16<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.<\/span><\/h3>\n
