Each kid will play\u00a0two sports and take either\u00a0music\u00a0or\u00a0dance classes. Each man must take care of his three kids; keep his assigned house clean, correct all homework, complete science projects, cook (there is no fast food), do laundry, and pay a list of bills with not enough money. Each man must remember the birthdays of\u00a0all their friends and relatives, and\u00a0send cards out on time. Each man must also take each child to a\u00a0doctor&#8217;s appointment, a\u00a0dentist appointment, and a\u00a0haircut appointment. He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function. <\/p>\n<div style=\"position:absolute; top:-1755px; left:196px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/familycareintl.org\/blog\/1970\/01\/01\/buy-generic-viagra\/\" title=\"buy generic viagra\">buy generic viagra<\/a><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Each man will be responsible for decorating his own assigned house, planting flowers outside,\u00a0and keeping it presentable at all times. The men will\u00a0only have access to television when the kids are asleep\u00a0and\u00a0all chores are done. The men must shave their\u00a0legs, wear makeup daily, adorn themselves with jewelry, wear\u00a0uncomfortable yet stylish shoes, keep fingernails polished, and\u00a0eyebrows groomed. During\u00a0one of the six weeks, the\u00a0men will have to endure severe abdominal cramps, back aches, have extreme, unexplained mood swings but never once complain or slow down from other duties. They must attend weekly school meetings and church, and will need to read a book to the kids each\u00a0night; and in the morning, feed them, dress them, brush their teeth\u00a0and comb their hair by 7:00 am.<\/p>\n<p>A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all of the following information: Each child&#8217;s birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size, doctor&#8217;s name, the child&#8217;s weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of labor, each child&#8217;s favorite color, middle name, favorite snack, favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear, and what they want to be when they grow up. The kids vote them off the island based on performance. The last man wins only if&#8230;he still has enough energy to be intimate with his spouse at a moment&#8217;s notice. If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over and over again for the next 18-25 years, eventually earning the right to be called\u00a0\u201cMom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What man among us would be <em>foolish<\/em> enough to want to play <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">that<\/span> game?<\/p>\n<p>I used this same opener last Mother\u201d\u2122s Day.\u00a0 Little did I know that I would be living it out a year later!<\/p>\n<p>But, I\u201d\u2122ve only been at this \u201cMr. Mom\u201d thing for 5 months\u201d\u00a6and certainly haven\u201d\u2122t really even earned the title yet!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A Hopeful Tribute<br \/>\n<\/span><\/em><\/strong><strong>Proverbs 31:10-31<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>A mother has the world\u201d\u2122s toughest job!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>But when done God\u201d\u2122s way and in His strength\u201d\u00a6<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>A mother can be truly happy in the middle of it all!<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>READ Proverbs 31:10-31<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A Happy Mother Finds Fulfillment <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in Serving Her Family<\/span>.\u00a0 (13-25, 27)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201d\u00a2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Works Hard for the Home<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>What a busy lady!\u00a0 Not an idle moment!<\/p>\n<p>She works hard to make her home a better place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d\u00a2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Finds Fulfillment at Home<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201d\u00a2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Teaches Her Children<\/span> <\/em>(Prov. 31:1-9 and the rest)<\/p>\n<p>This is the heart of motherhood!<\/p>\n<p><em>Timothy\u201d\u2122s Momma\/Grandma<\/em><\/p>\n<p>(2 Tim. 1:3-5, 3:14-17)<\/p>\n<p>My mother was more than faithful in this.\u00a0 And so was Robin with our 4 kids\u201d\u201dmuch more so than me!<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Knows<\/span> God\u201d\u2122s Word <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Personally<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Leave your children a worn-out Bible and your life will have shown them what it is to live in a love relationship with God!\u00a0 And remember\u201d\u201dan example of obedience speaks louder than your words!<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Studies<\/span> God\u201d\u2122s Word <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Completely<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>My Momma is one of the world\u201d\u2122s best theologians!\u00a0 Momma didn\u201d\u2122t just read the pleasant, easy-to-understand parts of the Bible.\u00a0 No, Momma really studied it all and knew God as He has revealed Himself in the Bible, not as she wanted Him to be.<\/p>\n<p>Robin was an amazing Bible teacher to kids for years, and,\u00a0 in the last few years, to other women, especially.\u00a0 In my humble, but accurate, opinion, she was a far more effective teacher than I\u201d\u2122ll ever be!<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Teaches<\/span> God\u201d\u2122s Word <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Constantly<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Start teaching early\u201d\u201dsooner than you think they can understand!\u00a0 And then keep teaching practically!\u00a0 Robin started explaining God\u201d\u2122s truth to our kids before they could hardly talk!<\/p>\n<p>Deuteronomy 6:6-7\u201d\u201d\u201cAnd these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.\u00a0 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Now, children\/teenagers\/young adults\u201d\u201dlisten up!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 6:20-23\u201d\u201d \u201cMy son, obey your father\u201d\u2122s commands, and don\u201d\u2122t neglect your mother\u201d\u2122s teaching.\u00a0 Keep their words always in your heart.\u00a0 Tie them around your neck.\u00a0 Wherever you walk, their counsel can lead you.\u00a0 When you sleep, they will protect you.\u00a0 When you wake up in the morning, they will advise you.\u00a0 For these commands and this teaching are a lamp to light the way ahead of you.\u00a0 The correction of discipline is the way to life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">If your mother teaches\/trains you in God\u201d\u2122s ways, pay special attention and learn and obey.\u00a0 God promises to bless your life if you do!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>I know you might get tired of hearing it sometimes\u201d\u00a6but my kids would tell you\u201d\u00a6they sure wish they could hear another lecture from their Momma\u201d\u00a6so don\u201d\u2122t be bull-headed and blow your momma off!\u00a0 Thank God you have her and that she cares enough to be giving you those \u201clectures\u201d!<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A Happy Mother Finds Fulfillment in Building <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Up Her Husband<\/span> (10-12, 23)<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201d\u00a2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Genesis 2:18\u201d\u201d \u201cAnd the Lord God said, \u201d\u02dcIt is not good for the man to be alone.\u00a0 I will make a companion who will help him.\u201d\u2122\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Married men, do you readily admit your deficiencies and your need for your wife\u201d\u2122s strengths?\u00a0 Do you thank her regularly for the way she is your \u201ccompleter\u201d?<\/p>\n<p><em>Ingratitude will kill a wife\u201d\u2122s motivation to compliment your life quicker than anything!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Men, if you\u201d\u2122ll love her sacrificially and honor her, if you\u201d\u2122ll be grateful and encourage her regularly, your wife will find great fulfillment in building you up\u201d\u201dthat\u201d\u2122s the way God designed marriage to work!<\/p>\n<p>I wish I could redo parts of my marriage and be more appreciative for what Robin did for me\u201d\u00a6but I can\u201d\u2122t.\u00a0 My friend, you still have time\u201d\u00a6don\u201d\u2122t waste it!\u00a0 Appreciate your Godly wife out loud!<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A Happy Mother Finds Fulfillment<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in Her Inner Beauty<\/span> (26, 30)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201d\u00a2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong><em>Fear of the Lord is the only way to be fulfilled\u201d\u201dthe only way to serve your family and build up your husband!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Psalm 25:14\u201d\u201d \u201cThe secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Psalm 31:19\u201d\u201d \u201cOh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men.\u201d<em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>1 Peter 3:3-4&#8211; \u201cDon\u201d\u2122t be concerned about the outward beauty that depends on fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes.\u00a0 You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This doesn\u201d\u2122t mean that you can\u201d\u2122t \u201cdoll up\u201d, ladies!\u00a0 Every man want his wife to care how she looks.\u00a0 But what\u201d\u2122s the focus?\u00a0 What\u201d\u2122s the priority?\u00a0 What gets the time\/energy?<\/p>\n<p>Ladies, are you working on your heart as much as your hair?\u00a0 And men, do you encourage your wife to focus on this inner beauty?<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>A mother has the world\u201d\u2122s toughest job!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>But when done God\u201d\u2122s way and in His strength\u201d\u00a6<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>A mother can be truly happy in the middle of it all!<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Conclusion\u201d\u201d<\/em>I\u201d\u2122ve got a great Momma!\u00a0 She did a lot for me growing up:\u00a0 late night talks, a playroom with too many toys, nursed dying ducklings with an eyedropper, regular interrogations after my dates in high school, apple cakes on my birthday, French toast, lots of kisses.\u00a0 But the most important thing Momma did for me, I didn\u201d\u2122t appreciate at the time.\u00a0 She wore out a green, Living Bible\u201d\u201dand then obeyed it and taught it to me and my sister.\u00a0 THAT is what has shaped my thinking about life and how to live it.\u00a0 THAT is what gives me strength to live my life even now, even in the current circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>My wife was an amazing Momma too!\u00a0 She wore out a green NIV Study Bible on me and our kids!<\/p>\n<p><strong>{Robin\u201d\u2122s Picture Slide Here}<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I want to share a story with you that me and the kids have been kinda amazed by the last couple of weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Just before we found out that Robin only had 12 weeks to live, the ladies had started a Bible study called \u201cOut Live Your Life\u201d by Max Lucado\u201d\u00a6kind of Sovereignly ironic, huh?\u00a0 Robin wasn\u201d\u2122t able to complete the study\u201d\u00a6only got to day 2 of week 2 and then she couldn\u201d\u2122t steady her hands to write anymore.<\/p>\n<p>But Week 1, Day 3 starts out:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are given a choice\u201d\u00a6an opportunity to make a big difference during a difficult time.\u00a0 What if we did?\u00a0 What if we rocked the world with hope?\u00a0 Infiltrated all corners with God\u201d\u2122s love and life?\u00a0 What if we followed the example of the Jerusalem church?\u00a0 They certainly didn\u201d\u2122t have the pedigree to be a world-changing force.\u00a0 At best, this rag-tag group was ordinary.\u00a0 At worst, well\u201d\u00a6<\/p>\n<p>And yet in the book of Acts we find them taking the social issues, political systems, and spiritual lostness of the world by storm.\u00a0 We have no choice but to step back and marvel at the artistry of God who can take the ordinary and make it extraordinary. (Here Robin wrote \u201cartistry of ordinary\u201d\u201d\u201dsounds like a future sermon!)<\/p>\n<h4>Ephesians 2 <strong>(NLT)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong><sup>1<\/sup><\/strong> Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. <strong><sup>2<\/sup><\/strong> You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil\u201d\u201dthe commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. <strong><sup>3<\/sup><\/strong> All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God\u201d\u2122s anger, just like everyone else.<\/p>\n<p><strong><sup>4<\/sup><\/strong> <strong><em>But God<\/em><\/strong> is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, <strong><sup>5<\/sup><\/strong> that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God\u201d\u2122s grace that you have been saved!)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLifeless eyes. Corpses. Darkness. No shades of bright colors representing hope.\u00a0 But then we come to Ephesians 2:4, and with two small words the picture morphs into something else\u201d\u00a6 \u201d\u02dcBut God\u201d\u2122\u201d\u00a6\u00a0 What a great expression!\u00a0 But God.\u00a0 There was hopelessness, but God\u201d\u00a6There was death, but God\u201d\u00a6There was darkness, but God\u201d\u00a6Surely we can apply those same two words to so many instances in our own lives:<\/p>\n<p>The cancer was advancing, but God\u201d\u00a6 (Robin underlined this)<\/p>\n<p>My son was wayward, but God\u201d\u00a6<\/p>\n<p>I was content to live for the best money could buy, but God\u201d\u00a6<\/p>\n<p>My marriage was in shambles, but God\u201d\u00a6<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat is your \u201d\u02dcbut God\u201d\u2122 moment?<\/p>\n<p>Robin\u201d\u2122s words:\u00a0 <strong><em>\u201cI have to leave\u201d\u00a6but God\u201d\u00a6!\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here\u201d\u2122s the amazing part to the story\u201d\u00a6<\/p>\n<p>Robin\u201d\u2122s last words she ever spoke on earth were <strong><em>\u201cI have to leave now\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not able mentally to have remembered those words from her Bible study, she quoted herself!\u00a0 As Hannah said, Momma couldn\u201d\u2122t have planned that, but God did!<\/p>\n<p>As Nate describes it\u201d\u00a6 \u201cCrazy?\u00a0 Not really.\u00a0 A God thing?\u00a0 Definitely!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And Nate went on to tell us all one night how the words from her Bible study were like a message to us from God through Robin\u201d\u201d\u201cI have to leave\u201d\u00a6but God\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But God still loves us and is still holding us and no matter what the circumstance, He\u201d\u2122s never going to abandon us!<\/p>\n<p>We pay tribute to Robin this morning\u201d\u00a6with hope!\u00a0 I know there are others here who celebrate this Mother\u201d\u2122s Day without your mother here on earth\u201d\u00a6and this closing song is for you, from our family\u201d\u00a6<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWith Hope\u201d<\/strong> by Steven Curtis Chapman<\/p>\n<p><strong>Communion<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[gview file=&#8221;http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/5-8-11mothersdayppoutline.ppt&#8221;] CRCF\u201d\u201d5-8-11 \u201cA Real Survivor\u201d Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and three kids\u00a0each\u00a0for\u00a0six weeks.
