Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/rec-08-23-20.mp3\">rec 08-23-20<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>WALL TO WALL<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Nehemiah chapters 3 &amp; 4<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>SPECIFIC TASKS\u00a0 \u00a0Nehemiah 3: 1-3<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0Eliashib\u00a0the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt\u00a0the Sheep Gate.\u00a0They dedicated it and set its doors in place, building as far as the Tower of the Hundred, which they dedicated, and as far as the Tower of Hananel.\u00a0<strong>2\u00a0<\/strong>The men of Jericho\u00a0built the adjoining section, and Zakkur son of Imri built next to them. <strong>3\u00a0<\/strong>The Fish Gate\u00a0was rebuilt by the sons of Hassenaah. They laid its beams and put its doors and bolts and bars in place.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nehemiah 3: 28-32<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Above the Horse Gate,\u00a0the priests made repairs, each in front of his own house.\u00a0<strong>29\u00a0<\/strong>Next to them, Zadok son of Immer made repairs opposite his house. Next to him, Shemaiah son of Shekaniah, the guard at the East Gate, made repairs.\u00a0<strong>30\u00a0<\/strong>Next to him, Hananiah son of Shelemiah, and Hanun, the sixth son of Zalaph, repaired another section. Next to them, Meshullam son of Berekiah made repairs opposite his living quarters.\u00a0<strong>31\u00a0<\/strong>Next to him, Malkijah, one of the goldsmiths, made repairs as far as the house of the temple servants and the merchants, opposite the Inspection Gate, and as far as the room above the corner;\u00a0<strong>32\u00a0<\/strong>and between the room above the corner and the Sheep Gate\u00a0the goldsmiths and merchants made repairs.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>SNEERING ENEMIES Nehemiah 4: 1-6<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When Sanballat\u00a0heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and was greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews,\u00a0<strong>2\u00a0<\/strong>and in the presence of his associates\u00a0and the army of Samaria, he said, \u201cWhat are those feeble Jews doing? Will they restore their wall? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they finish in a day? Can they bring the stones back to life from those heaps of rubble\u201d\u201dburned as they are?\u201d<strong>3\u00a0<\/strong>Tobiah\u00a0the Ammonite, who was at his side, said, \u201cWhat they are building\u201d\u201deven a fox climbing up on it would break down their wall of stones!\u201d <strong>4\u00a0<\/strong>Hear us, our God, for we are despised.\u00a0Turn their insults back on their own heads. Give them over as plunder in a land of captivity.\u00a0<strong>5\u00a0<\/strong>Do not cover up their guilt\u00a0or blot out their sins from your sight,\u00a0for they have thrown insults in the face of the builders.<strong>6\u00a0<\/strong>So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>SECRET PLOTS Nehemiah 4: 7-9<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But when Sanballat, Tobiah,\u00a0the Arabs, the Ammonites and the people of Ashdod heard that the repairs to Jerusalem\u201d\u2122s walls had gone ahead and that the gaps were being closed, they were very angry.<strong>\u00a08\u00a0<\/strong>They all plotted together\u00a0to come and fight against Jerusalem and stir up trouble against it.<strong>\u00a09\u00a0<\/strong>But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 Corinthians 2: 11<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">in order that Satan\u00a0might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>SHAKEN WORKERS Nehemiah 4: 10-12<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Meanwhile, the people in Judah said, \u201cThe strength of the laborers\u00a0is giving out, and there is so much rubble that we cannot rebuild the wall.\u201d <strong>11\u00a0<\/strong>Also our enemies said, \u201cBefore they know it or see us, we will be right there among them and will kill them and put an end to the work.\u201d <strong>12\u00a0<\/strong>Then the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times over, \u201cWherever you turn, they will attack us.\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>STATIONED GUARDS Nehemiah 4: 13-15<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.\u00a0<strong>14\u00a0<\/strong>After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, \u201cDon\u201d\u2122t be afraid\u00a0of them. Remember\u00a0the Lord, who is great and awesome,\u00a0and fight\u00a0for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.\u201d <strong>15\u00a0<\/strong>When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it,\u00a0we all returned to the wall, each to our own work.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 Corinthians 15: 58<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,\u00a0because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>SEPARATED SOLDIERS Nehemiah 4: 16-20<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah\u00a0<strong>17\u00a0<\/strong>who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon\u00a0in the other,\u00a0<strong>18\u00a0<\/strong>and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet\u00a0stayed with me.<strong>19\u00a0<\/strong>Then I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, \u201cThe work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall.\u00a0<strong>20\u00a0<\/strong>Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet,\u00a0join us there. Our God will fight\u00a0for us!\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>STEADFAST LABORERS Nehemiah 4: 21-23<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out.<strong>\u00a022\u00a0<\/strong>At that time I also said to the people, \u201cHave every man and his helper stay inside Jerusalem at night, so they can serve us as guards by night and as workers by day.\u201d<strong>\u00a023\u00a0<\/strong>Neither I nor my brothers nor my men nor the guards with me took off our clothes; each had his weapon, even when he went for water.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">(The themes of this message are facing the enemy with strength and working together with unity.)<\/span><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon By Rev.
