Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/rec-08-16-20.mp3\">rec 08-16-20<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">CASTING A VISION<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">Nehemiah Chapter 2<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>AN HONEST CONCERN<\/b><\/span> <span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Nehemiah 2: 1-3<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: medium;\">In the month of Nisan,\u00a0in the twentieth year of King\u00a0Artaxerxes, when wine was before him,\u00a0I took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had not been sad in his presence.\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>2\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">And the king said to me, \u201cWhy is your face sad, seeing you are not sick? This is nothing but\u00a0sadness of the heart.\u201d Then I was very much afraid.\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>3\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">I said to the king,\u00a0\u201cLet the king live forever! Why should not my face be sad,\u00a0when the city, the place of my fathers&#8217; graves, lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\"><b>AN HONEST REQUEST Nehemiah 2: 4-8<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>4\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Then the king said to me, \u201cWhat are you requesting?\u201d So I prayed\u00a0to the God of heaven.\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>5\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">And I said to the king, \u201cIf it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers&#8217; graves, that I may rebuild it.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>6\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">And the king said to me (the queen sitting beside him), \u201cHow long will you be gone, and when will you return?\u201d So it pleased the king to send me\u00a0when I had given him a time.\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>7\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">And I said to the king, \u201cIf it pleases the king, let letters be given me\u00a0to the governors of the province Beyond the River, that they may let me pass through until I come to Judah,\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>8\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">and a letter to Asaph, the keeper of the king&#8217;s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of\u00a0the fortress of the temple, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall occupy.\u201d And the king granted me what I asked,\u00a0for the good hand of my God was upon me.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\">Hebrews 4: 14-16<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Since then we have\u00a0a great high priest\u00a0who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God,\u00a0let us hold fast our confession.\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>15\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">For we do not have a high priest\u00a0who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been\u00a0tempted as we are,\u00a0yet without sin.\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>16\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\">Daniel 9: 25<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Know therefore and understand that\u00a0from the going out of the word to restore and\u00a0build Jerusalem to the coming of an\u00a0anointed one, a\u00a0prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">[<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"#fen-ESV-22014a\">a<\/a>]<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0with squares and moat,\u00a0but in a troubled time.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\"><b>AN HONEST INSPECTION Nehemiah 2: 9-16<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Then I came to\u00a0the governors of the province Beyond the River and gave them the king&#8217;s letters. Now the king had sent with me officers of the army and horsemen.\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>10\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">But when\u00a0Sanballat the Horonite and\u00a0Tobiah the Ammonite servant heard this, it displeased them greatly that someone had come to seek the welfare of the people of Israel.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>11\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">So I went to Jerusalem and was there three days.\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>12\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Then I arose in the night, I and a few men with me. And I told no one what my God had put into my heart to do for Jerusalem. There was no animal with me but the one on which I rode.\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>13\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">I went out by night by\u00a0the Valley Gate to the Dragon Spring and to\u00a0the Dung Gate, and I inspected the walls of Jerusalem\u00a0that were broken down\u00a0and its gates that had been destroyed by fire.\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>14\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Then I went on to\u00a0the Fountain Gate and to\u00a0the King&#8217;s Pool, but there was no room for the animal that was under me to pass.\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>15\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Then I went up in the night\u00a0by the valley and inspected the wall, and I turned back and entered by the Valley Gate, and so returned.\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>16\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">And the officials did not know where I had gone or what I was doing, and I had not yet told the Jews, the priests, the nobles, the officials, and the rest who were to do the work.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\"><b>AN HONEST VISION Nehemiah 2: 17-18<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Then I said to them, \u201cYou see the trouble we are in,\u00a0how Jerusalem lies in ruins with its gates burned. Come, let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer\u00a0suffer derision.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>18\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">And I told them\u00a0of the hand of my God that had been upon me for good, and also of the words that the king had spoken to me. And they said, \u201cLet us rise up and build.\u201d\u00a0So they strengthened their hands for the good work.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #000000;\"><b>AN HONEST OPPOSITION Nehemiah 2: 19-20<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">But when Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite servant and\u00a0Geshem the Arab heard of it,\u00a0they jeered at us and despised us and said, \u201cWhat is this thing that you are doing?\u00a0Are you rebelling against the king?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">20\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Then I replied to them,\u00a0\u201cThe God of heaven will make us prosper, and we his servants will arise and build, but you have no portion or right or claim\u00a0in Jerusalem.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Rev.
