BROKEN COVENANT\u00a0\u00a0 Hosea 1: 2-3<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n
When the\u00a0Lord\u00a0first spoke through Hosea, the\u00a0Lord\u00a0said to Hosea,\u00a0\u201cGo, take to yourself a wife of whoredom and have\u00a0children of whoredom, for\u00a0the land commits great whoredom by forsaking the\u00a0Lord.\u201d\u00a03\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>So he went and took Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.<\/span><\/h3>\n

BYWORD CHILDREN\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hosea 1: 4-9<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n
And the\u00a0Lord\u00a0said to him, \u201cCall his name Jezreel, for in just a little while\u00a0I will punish the house of Jehu for the blood of Jezreel, and\u00a0I will put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel.\u00a05\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>And on that day\u00a0I will break the bow of Israel\u00a0in the Valley of Jezreel.\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n
6\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>She conceived again and bore a daughter. And the\u00a0Lord\u00a0said to him,\u00a0\u201cCall her name No Mercy,\u00a0for\u00a0I will no more have mercy on the house of Israel, to forgive them at all.\u00a07\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>But\u00a0I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and I will save them by the\u00a0Lord\u00a0their God. Yet\u00a0the number of the children of Israel shall be\u00a0like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or numbered.\u00a0And\u00a0in the place where it was said to them,\u00a0\u201cYou are not my people,\u201d it shall be said to them,\u00a0\u201cChildren\u00a0of\u00a0the living God.\u201d\u00a011\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>And\u00a0the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and\u00a0they shall appoint for themselves one head. BURNING JUDGMENT\u00a0\u00a0 Hosea 2: 2-8<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n
\u201cPlead with your mother, plead\u201d\u201dfor\u00a0she is not my wife, and I am not her husband\u201d\u201d<\/span>
\nthat she put away\u00a0her whoring from her face, and her adultery from between her breasts;<\/span>
\n3\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>lest\u00a0I strip her naked and make her as\u00a0in the day she was born and\u00a0make her like a wilderness,<\/span>
\n\u00a0and make her like a parched land, and kill her with thirst. 4\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Upon her children also I will have no mercy,\u00a0because they are children of whoredom.5\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>For\u00a0their mother has played the whore; she who conceived them has acted shamefully. For\u00a0she said, \u201d\u02dcI will go after my lovers, who\u00a0give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.\u201d\u21226\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Therefore\u00a0I will hedge up her\u00a0way with thorns, and\u00a0I will build a wall against her, so that she cannot find her paths.7\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>She shall pursue her lovers but not overtake them, and she shall seek them but shall not find them.<\/span>
\nThen she shall say, \u201d\u02dcI will go and return to\u00a0my first husband, for it was better for me then than now.\u201d\u2122 8\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>And\u00a0she did not know that it was\u00a0I who gave her the grain, the wine, and the oil and who lavished on\u00a0her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/h3>\n
BETROTHED LOVE\u00a0\u00a0 Hosea 2: 16-23<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n
\u201cAnd\u00a0in that day, declares the\u00a0Lord, you will call me \u201d\u02dcMy Husband,\u201d\u2122 and no longer will you call me \u201d\u02dcMy Baal.\u201d\u2122\u00a017\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>For\u00a0I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, and they shall be remembered by name no more.\u00a018\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>And\u00a0I will make for them a covenant on that day with the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the creeping things of the ground. And\u00a0I will abolish the bow, the sword, and war from the land, and I will make you lie down\u00a0in safety. 19\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>And I will betroth you to me\u00a0forever.\u00a0I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy.\u00a020\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>I will betroth you to me in faithfulness. And\u00a0you shall know the\u00a0Lord.21\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>\u201cAnd\u00a0in that day\u00a0I will answer, declares the\u00a0Lord, I will answer the heavens, and they shall answer the earth, 22\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>and the earth shall answer the grain, the wine, and the oil, and they shall answer\u00a0Jezreel, 23\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>and\u00a0I will sow her for myself in the land. And\u00a0I\u00a0will have mercy on No Mercy, and\u00a0I will say to Not My People,\u00a0\u201d\u02dcYou are my people\u201d\u2122; and he shall say, \u201d\u02dcYou are my God.\u201d\u2122\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n

BUYING THE UNWORTHY\u00a0\u00a0 Hosea 3: 1-5\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n
And the\u00a0Lord\u00a0said to me,\u00a0\u201cGo again, love a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, even as the\u00a0Lord\u00a0loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love cakes of raisins.\u201d\u00a02\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and a\u00a0homer and a lethech\u00a0of barley.\u00a03\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>And I said to her, \u201cYou must\u00a0dwell as mine for many days. You shall not play the whore, or belong to another man; so will I also be to you.\u201d\u00a04\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>For the children of Israel\u00a0shall dwell many days\u00a0without king or prince,\u00a0without sacrifice or\u00a0pillar, without\u00a0ephod or\u00a0household gods.\u00a05\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Afterward\u00a0the children of Israel shall return and\u00a0seek the\u00a0Lord\u00a0their God, and\u00a0David their king,\u00a0and they shall come in fear to the\u00a0Lord\u00a0and to his goodness in the\u00a0latter days.<\/span><\/h3>\n
