\n1 Peter 1: 13-25<\/strong><\/h2>\n
\nBlessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,<\/span><\/p>\n
\n\u00a0His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 4\u00a0by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nTherefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n\u00a0I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2\u00a0Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nto put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23\u00a0and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24\u00a0and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nAnd if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile,<\/span><\/p>\n
\n\u00a0For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nWhy do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; 11\u00a0for it is written,\u201cAs I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.\u201d12\u00a0So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n\u00a0knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19\u00a0but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. 20\u00a0He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you 21\u00a0who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nfor all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24\u00a0and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,<\/span><\/p>\n
\nAnd now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n\u00a0A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35\u00a0By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
\nA voice says, \u201cCry!\u201d And I said, \u201cWhat shall I cry?\u201d All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field. 7\u00a0The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the Lord blows on it; surely the people are grass. 8\u00a0The grass withers, the flower fades, but the<\/span> word of our God will stand forever.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
