WHAT BAPTISTS BELIEVE…about The Church<\/strong><\/h2>\n

THE NATURE OF THE CHURCH<\/strong>
\nColossians 1: 18
\nAnd he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.<\/p>\n

Revelation 22: 17
\nThe Spirit and the Bride say, \u201cCome.\u201d And let the one who hears say, \u201cCome.\u201d And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.<\/p>\n

Matthew 16: 13-17
\nNow when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, \u201cWho do people say that the Son of Man is?\u201d 14 And they said, \u201cSome say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.\u201d 15 He said to them, \u201cBut who do you say that I am?\u201d 16 Simon Peter replied, \u201cYou are the Christ, the Son of the living God.\u201d 17 And Jesus answered him, \u201cBlessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! Acts 2: 40-42

THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH<\/strong>
\nMatthew 28: 18-20<\/p>\n

And Jesus came and said to them, \u201cAll authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ephesians 3: 7-10
\nOf this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of his power. 8 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things, 10 so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.<\/p>\n

THE OFFICERS OF THE CHURCH<\/strong>
\nActs 20: 28
\nPay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.<\/p>\n

THE PEOPLE OF THE CHURCH<\/strong>
\nHebrews 10: 23-25
