LED BY THE LIGHT<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Exodus 13:17-22 (ESV) <\/b>
\n17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near. For God said, \u201cLest the people change their minds when they see war and return to Egypt.\u201d
\n18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. And the people of Israel went up out of the land of Egypt equipped for battle.
\n19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for Joseph had made the sons of Israel solemnly swear, saying, \u201cGod will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones with you from here.\u201d
\n20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they moved on from Succoth and encamped at Etham, on the edge of the wilderness.

SNATCH OUR SLAVES<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Exodus 14:1-9 (ESV) <\/b>
\n1 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then the LORD said to Moses,
\n2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0\u201cTell the people of Israel to turn back and encamp in front of Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, in front of Baal-zephon; you shall encamp facing it, by the sea.
\n3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For Pharaoh will say of the people of Israel, \u201d\u02dcThey are wandering in the land; the wilderness has shut them in.\u201d\u2122
\n4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And I will harden Pharaoh\u201d\u2122s heart, and he will pursue them, and I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, and the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD<\/span>.\u201d And they did so.
\n5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, the mind of Pharaoh and his servants was changed toward the people, and they said, \u201cWhat is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?\u201d

\n9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The Egyptians pursued them, all Pharaoh\u201d\u2122s horses and chariots and his horsemen and his army, and overtook them encamped at the sea, by Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon. <\/span><\/p>\n

CRIES TO COMPLAINTS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Exodus 14:10-12 (ESV) <\/b>
\n10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0When Pharaoh drew near, the people of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they feared greatly. And the people of Israel cried out to the LORD.
\n11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0They said to Moses, \u201cIs it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt?
\n12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Is not this what we said to you in Egypt: \u201d\u02dcLeave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians\u201d\u2122? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV) <\/b>
\n11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD<\/span>, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.<\/p>\n

GET TO GOING<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Exodus 14:13-18 (ESV) <\/b>
\n13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Moses said to the people, \u201cFear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.
\n14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The LORD<\/span> will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.\u201d
\n15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The LORD said to Moses, \u201cWhy do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward.
\n16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground.
\n17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they shall go in after them, and I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, his chariots, and his horsemen.
\n18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten glory over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

WALL OF WATER<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Exodus 14:19-22 (ESV) <\/b>
\n19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then the angel of God who was going before the host of Israel moved and went behind them, and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them,
\n20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0coming between the host of Egypt and the host of Israel. And there was the cloud and the darkness. And it lit up the night without one coming near the other all night.
\n21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD<\/span> drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
\n22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

DROWNING AT DAYBREAK<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Exodus 14:23-28 (ESV) <\/b>
\n23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The Egyptians pursued and went in after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh\u201d\u2122s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
\n24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And in the morning watch the LORD<\/span> in the pillar of fire and of cloud looked down on the Egyptian forces and threw the Egyptian forces into a panic,
\n25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0clogging their chariot wheels so that they drove heavily. And the Egyptians said, \u201cLet us flee from before Israel, for the LORD fights for them against the Egyptians.\u201d
\n26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then the LORD said to Moses, \u201cStretch out your hand over the sea, that the water may come back upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.\u201d
\n27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its normal course when the morning appeared. And as the Egyptians fled into it, the LORD threw the Egyptians into the midst of the sea.
\n28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen; of all the host of Pharaoh that had followed them into the sea, not one of them remained. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

FEET OF FREEDOM<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Exodus 14:29-31 (ESV) <\/b>
\n29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But the people of Israel walked on dry ground through the sea, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
\n30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Thus the LORD<\/span> saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.
\n31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Israel saw the great power that the LORD used against the Egyptians, so the people feared the LORD<\/span>, and they believed in the LORD<\/span> and in his servant Moses. <\/span><\/p>\n

1 Corinthians 10:1-2 (ESV) <\/b>
\n1 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,
\n2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, <\/span><\/p>\n

POEM OF PRAISE<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Exodus 15:1-13 (ESV) <\/b>
\n1 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the LORD<\/span>, saying, <\/span>\u201cI will sing to the LORD<\/span>, for he has triumphed gloriously;<\/span> the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.<\/span>
\n2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation;<\/span> this is my God, and I will praise him, my father\u201d\u2122s God, and I will exalt him.<\/span>
\n3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The LORD<\/span> is a man of war; the LORD is his name.<\/span>
