Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/rec0609-112238.mp3\">rec0609-112238<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>&#8220;When Nothing Makes Sense&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Habakkuk 1:1-4, 2:2-3, 3:17-19<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>A SORRY SOCIETY<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Habakkuk 1:1-4 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet saw. <\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"poetry1\">\u00a0O <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span>, how long shall I cry for help,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">and you will not hear?<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\">Or cry to you \u201cViolence!\u201d<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">and you will not save?<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Why do you make me see iniquity, <span class=\"poetry2\">and why do you idly look at wrong?<\/span> Destruction and violence are before me; <span class=\"poetry2\">strife and contention arise.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So the law is paralyzed, <span class=\"poetry2\">and justice never goes forth.<\/span> For the wicked surround the righteous; <span class=\"poetry2\">so justice goes forth perverted.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Habakkuk 2:2-3 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"noindent\">\u00a0And the LORD answered me:<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\">\u201cWrite the vision;<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">make it plain on tablets,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">so he may run who reads it.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For still the vision awaits its appointed time; <span class=\"poetry2\">it hastens to the end\u201d\u201dit will not lie.<\/span> If it seems slow, wait for it; <span class=\"poetry2\">it will surely come; it will not delay.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>A SORRY SITUATION<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>2 Corinthians 11:24-27 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE FATHER STAYS IN OUR STRUGGLES<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Psalm 138:7-8 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Though I walk in the midst of trouble, <span class=\"poetry2\">you preserve my life;<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\">you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">and your right hand delivers me.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span> will fulfill his purpose for me; <span class=\"poetry2\">your steadfast love, O <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span>, endures forever.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">Do not forsake the work of your hands.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE SON DEEPENS OUR CHARACTER<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Romans 8:28-29 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.<\/p>\n<p><b>Proverbs 17:3 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold, <span class=\"poetry2\">and the LORD tests hearts.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE SPIRIT WIDENS OUR MINISTRY<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Habakkuk 3:17-19 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"poetry1\">\u00a0Though the fig tree should not blossom,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">nor fruit be on the vines,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\">the produce of the olive fail<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">and the fields yield no food,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\">the flock be cut off from the fold<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">and there be no herd in the stalls,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0yet I will rejoice in the LORD; <span class=\"poetry2\">I will take joy in the God of my salvation.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">GOD<\/span>, the Lord, is my strength; <span class=\"poetry2\">he makes my feet like the deer\u201d\u2122s;<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">he makes me tread on my high places.<\/span> To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon by Rev.
