Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/rec0113-113016.mp3\">rec0113-113016<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE GOSPEL OF MARK<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">&#8220;Night of Decisions&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Mark 14: 32-72<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>HOLY GROUND<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><b>Mark 14:32-42 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And they went to a place called Gethsemane. And he said to his disciples, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cSit here while I pray.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly distressed and troubled.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">34 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cMy soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">35 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">36 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he said, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cAbba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">37 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cSimon, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">38 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">39 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">40 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy, and they did not know what to answer him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">41 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he came the third time and said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cAre you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough; the hour has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">42 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2 Corinthians 5:21 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>WICKED KISS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 14:43-52 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">43 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas came, one of the twelve, and with him a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">44 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, \u201cThe one I will kiss is the man. Seize him and lead him away under guard.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">45 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when he came, he went up to him at once and said, \u201cRabbi!\u201d And he kissed him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">46 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they laid hands on him and seized him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">47 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">48 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Jesus said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cHave you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">49 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Day after day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me. But let the Scriptures be fulfilled.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">50 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they all left him and fled.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">51 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And a young man followed him, with nothing but a linen cloth about his body. And they seized him,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">52 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0but he left the linen cloth and ran away naked.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>FALSE CHARGES<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 14:53-59 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">53 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And they led Jesus to the high priest. And all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes came together.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">54 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Peter had followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he was sitting with the guards and warming himself at the fire.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">55 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now the chief priests and the whole council were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">56 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For many bore false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">57 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">58 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0\u201cWe heard him say, \u201d\u02dcI will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.\u201d\u2122\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">59 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Yet even about this their testimony did not agree.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>John 2:18-22 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So the Jews said to him, \u201cWhat sign do you show us for doing these things?\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Jesus answered them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cDestroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The Jews then said, \u201cIt has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But he was speaking about the temple of his body.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>BOLD ANSWER<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 14:60-65 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">60 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, \u201cHave you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">61 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But he remained silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, \u201cAre you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">62 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Jesus said, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cI am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">63 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the high priest tore his garments and said, \u201cWhat further witnesses do we need?<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">64 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0You have heard his blasphemy. What is your decision?\u201d And they all condemned him as deserving death.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">65 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And some began to spit on him and to cover his face and to strike him, saying to him, \u201cProphesy!\u201d And the guards received him with blows.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>DARK FAILURE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 14:66-72 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">66 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">67 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, \u201cYou also were with the Nazarene, Jesus.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">68 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But he denied it, saying, \u201cI neither know nor understand what you mean.\u201d And he went out into the gateway and the rooster crowed.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">69 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the servant girl saw him and began again to say to the bystanders, \u201cThis man is one of them.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">70 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But again he denied it. And after a little while the bystanders again said to Peter, \u201cCertainly you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">71 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, \u201cI do not know this man of whom you speak.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">72 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cBefore the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.\u201d<\/span> And he broke down and wept.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon Series by Rev.
