FRUITLESS FIGS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mark 11:12-14 (ESV) <\/b>
\n12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0On the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry.
\n13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
\n14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he said to it, \u201cMay no one ever eat fruit from you again.\u201d<\/span> And his disciples heard it. <\/span><\/p>\n

Hosea 9:10 (ESV) <\/b>
\n10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Like grapes in the wilderness, I found Israel.<\/span> Like the first fruit on the fig tree<\/span> in its first season,<\/span> I saw your fathers.<\/span> But they came to Baal-peor<\/span> and consecrated themselves to the thing of shame,<\/span> and became detestable like the thing they loved.<\/span>

REMOVING ROBBERS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mark 11:15-19 (ESV) <\/b>
\n15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons.
\n16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple.
\n17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he was teaching them and saying to them, \u201cIs it not written, \u201d\u02dcMy house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations\u201d\u2122? But you have made it a den of robbers.\u201d<\/span>
\n18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching.
\n19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when evening came they went out of the city. <\/span><\/p>\n

MOUNTAIN MOVERS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mark 11:20-25 (ESV) <\/b>
\n20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away to its roots.
\n21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Peter remembered and said to him, \u201cRabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.\u201d
\n22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Jesus answered them, \u201cHave faith in God.<\/span>
\n23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, \u201d\u02dcBe taken up and thrown into the sea,\u201d\u2122 and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.<\/span>
\n24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.<\/span>
\n25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Hebrews 11:6 (ESV) <\/b>
\n6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.<\/p>\n

1 John 5:14-15 (ESV) <\/b>
\n14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.
\n15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.<\/p>\n

John 15:7 (ESV) <\/b>
\n7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

DILEMMA DENIED<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mark 11:27-33 (ESV) <\/b>
\n27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they came again to Jerusalem. And as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to him,
\n28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and they said to him, \u201cBy what authority are you doing these things, or who gave you this authority to do them?\u201d
\n29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Jesus said to them, \u201cI will ask you one question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.<\/span>
\n30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Was the baptism of John from heaven or from man? Answer me.\u201d<\/span>
\n31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they discussed it with one another, saying, \u201cIf we say, \u201d\u02dcFrom heaven,\u201d\u2122 he will say, \u201d\u02dcWhy then did you not believe him?\u201d\u2122
\n32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But shall we say, \u201d\u02dcFrom man\u201d\u2122?\u201d\u201d\u201dthey were afraid of the people, for they all held that John really was a prophet.
\n33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So they answered Jesus, \u201cWe do not know.\u201d And Jesus said to them, \u201cNeither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

REJECTION RETRIBUTION<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mark 12:1-12 (ESV) <\/b>
\n1 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he began to speak to them in parables. \u201cA man planted a vineyard and put a fence around it and dug a pit for the winepress and built a tower, and leased it to tenants and went into another country.<\/span>
\n2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0When the season came, he sent a servant to the tenants to get from them some of the fruit of the vineyard.<\/span>
\n3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they took him and beat him and sent him away empty-handed.<\/span>
\n4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Again he sent to them another servant, and they struck him on the head and treated him shamefully.<\/span>
\n5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he sent another, and him they killed. And so with many others: some they beat, and some they killed.<\/span>
\n6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He had still one other, a beloved son. Finally he sent him to them, saying, \u201d\u02dcThey will respect my son.\u201d\u2122<\/span>
\n7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But those tenants said to one another, \u201d\u02dcThis is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.\u201d\u2122<\/span>
\n8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they took him and killed him and threw him out of the vineyard.<\/span>
\n9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0What will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the tenants and give the vineyard to others.<\/span>
\n10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Have you not read this Scripture:<\/span> \u201c\u201d\u02dcThe stone that the builders rejected<\/span> has become the cornerstone;<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0this was the Lord\u201d\u2122s doing,<\/span> and it is marvelous in our eyes\u201d\u2122?\u201d<\/span><\/span>
\n12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they were seeking to arrest him but feared the people, for they perceived that he had told the parable against them. So they left him and went away. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
