Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/rec1209-113403.mp3\">rec1209-113403<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE GOSPEL OF MARK<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>&#8220;Changes and Challenges&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Mark 11:12 &#8211; 12:12<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>FRUITLESS FIGS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 11:12-14 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0On the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he said to it, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cMay no one ever eat fruit from you again.\u201d<\/span> And his disciples heard it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Hosea 9:10 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Like grapes in the wilderness, <span class=\"poetry2\">I found Israel.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\">Like the first fruit on the fig tree<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">in its first season,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">I saw your fathers.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\">But they came to Baal-peor<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">and consecrated themselves to the thing of shame,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">and became detestable like the thing they loved.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>REMOVING ROBBERS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 11:15-19 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he was teaching them and saying to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cIs it not written, \u201d\u02dcMy house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations\u201d\u2122? But you have made it a den of robbers.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when evening came they went out of the city. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>MOUNTAIN MOVERS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 11:20-25 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away to its roots.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Peter remembered and said to him, \u201cRabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Jesus answered them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cHave faith in God.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, \u201d\u02dcBe taken up and thrown into the sea,\u201d\u2122 and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Hebrews 11:6 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.<\/p>\n<p><b>1 John 5:14-15 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.<\/p>\n<p><b>John 15:7 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>DILEMMA DENIED<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 11:27-33 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And they came again to Jerusalem. And as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to him,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and they said to him, \u201cBy what authority are you doing these things, or who gave you this authority to do them?\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Jesus said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cI will ask you one question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Was the baptism of John from heaven or from man? Answer me.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they discussed it with one another, saying, \u201cIf we say, \u201d\u02dcFrom heaven,\u201d\u2122 he will say, \u201d\u02dcWhy then did you not believe him?\u201d\u2122<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But shall we say, \u201d\u02dcFrom man\u201d\u2122?\u201d\u201d\u201dthey were afraid of the people, for they all held that John really was a prophet.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So they answered Jesus, \u201cWe do not know.\u201d And Jesus said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cNeither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>REJECTION RETRIBUTION<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 12:1-12 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And he began to speak to them in parables. <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cA man planted a vineyard and put a fence around it and dug a pit for the winepress and built a tower, and leased it to tenants and went into another country.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">When the season came, he sent a servant to the tenants to get from them some of the fruit of the vineyard.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And they took him and beat him and sent him away empty-handed.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Again he sent to them another servant, and they struck him on the head and treated him shamefully.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And he sent another, and him they killed. And so with many others: some they beat, and some they killed.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">He had still one other, a beloved son. Finally he sent him to them, saying, \u201d\u02dcThey will respect my son.\u201d\u2122<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">But those tenants said to one another, \u201d\u02dcThis is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.\u201d\u2122<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And they took him and killed him and threw him out of the vineyard.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">What will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the tenants and give the vineyard to others.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Have you not read this Scripture:<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201c\u201d\u02dcThe stone that the builders rejected<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\"><span class=\"JesusWords\">has become the cornerstone;<\/span><\/span><\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">this was the Lord\u201d\u2122s doing,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\"><span class=\"JesusWords\">and it is marvelous in our eyes\u201d\u2122?\u201d<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they were seeking to arrest him but feared the people, for they perceived that he had told the parable against them. So they left him and went away. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon Series by Rev.
