Mark 4:35 – 5:43<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

POWER over a TERRIFYING Situation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mark 4:35-41 (ESV) <\/b>
\n35 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, \u201cLet us go across to the other side.\u201d<\/span>
\n36 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him.
\n37 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling.
\n38 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, \u201cTeacher, do you not care that we are perishing?\u201d
\n39 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, \u201cPeace! Be still!\u201d<\/span> And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
\n40 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He said to them, \u201cWhy are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?\u201d<\/span>
\n41 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, \u201cWho then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

POWER over an EXTREME Situation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mark 5:1-13 (ESV) <\/b>
\n1 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes.
\n2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when Jesus had stepped out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit.
\n3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He lived among the tombs. And no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain,
\n4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0for he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him.
\n5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones.
\n6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him.
\n7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And crying out with a loud voice, he said, \u201cWhat have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.\u201d
\n8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For he was saying to him, \u201cCome out of the man, you unclean spirit!\u201d<\/span>
\n9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Jesus asked him, \u201cWhat is your name?\u201d<\/span> He replied, \u201cMy name is Legion, for we are many.\u201d
\n10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the country.
\n11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now a great herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside,
\n12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and they begged him, saying, \u201cSend us to the pigs; let us enter them.\u201d
\n13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out and entered the pigs; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the sea. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

POWER over a CONFUSING Situation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mark 5:14-20 (ESV) <\/b>
\n14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The herdsmen fled and told it in the city and in the country. And people came to see what it was that had happened.
\n15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man, the one who had had the legion, sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid.
\n16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and to the pigs.
\n17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they began to beg Jesus to depart from their region.
\n18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him.
\n19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he did not permit him but said to him, \u201cGo home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.\u201d<\/span>
\n20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

POWER over a FRUSTRATING Situation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mark 5:21-34 (ESV) <\/b>
\n21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the other side, a great crowd gathered about him, and he was beside the sea.
\n22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, and seeing him, he fell at his feet
\n23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and implored him earnestly, saying, \u201cMy little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well and live.\u201d
\n24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he went with him. And a great crowd followed him and thronged about him.
\n25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years,
\n26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse.
\n27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment.
\n28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For she said, \u201cIf I touch even his garments, I will be made well.\u201d
\n29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And immediately the flow of blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.
\n30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, immediately turned about in the crowd and said, \u201cWho touched my garments?\u201d<\/span>
\n31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And his disciples said to him, \u201cYou see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, \u201d\u02dcWho touched me?\u201d\u2122<\/span>\u201d
\n32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he looked around to see who had done it.
\n33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him and told him the whole truth.
\n34 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he said to her, \u201cDaughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

POWER over a HOPELESS Situation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mark 5:35-43 (ESV) <\/b>
\n35 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler\u201d\u2122s house some who said, \u201cYour daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?\u201d
\n36 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, \u201cDo not fear, only believe.\u201d<\/span>
\n37 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he allowed no one to follow him except Peter and James and John the brother of James.
\n38 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0They came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and Jesus saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly.
\n39 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when he had entered, he said to them, \u201cWhy are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but sleeping.\u201d<\/span>
\n40 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they laughed at him. But he put them all outside and took the child\u201d\u2122s father and mother and those who were with him and went in where the child was.
\n41 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Taking her by the hand he said to her, \u201cTalitha cumi,\u201d<\/span> which means, \u201cLittle girl, I say to you, arise.\u201d<\/span>
\n42 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And immediately the girl got up and began walking (for she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with amazement.
\n43 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he strictly charged them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat.<\/p>\n

Don’t give up…Keep on believing!<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n
