Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/rec0930-112017.mp3\">rec0930-112017<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE GOSPEL OF MARK<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>&#8220;Misunderstood Messiah&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Mark 3: 7-35<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>MINISTER TO MULTITUDES<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 3:7-12 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd followed, from Galilee and Judea<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and Jerusalem and Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and from around Tyre and Sidon. When the great crowd heard all that he was doing, they came to him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, lest they crush him,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0for he had healed many, so that all who had diseases pressed around him to touch him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, \u201cYou are the Son of God.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he strictly ordered them not to make him known. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Luke 5:1-3 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and he saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon\u201d\u2122s, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>CHOSEN COMPANY<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 3:13-19 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And he went up on the mountain and called to him those whom he desired, and they came to him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) so that they might be with him and he might send them out to preach<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and have authority to cast out demons.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He appointed the twelve: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter);<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James (to whom he gave the name Boanerges, that is, Sons of Thunder);<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>BEWILDERED BROTHERS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 3:20-21 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then he went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they could not even eat.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, \u201cHe is out of his mind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>RESOLVED TO REFUSE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 3:22-30 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, \u201cHe is possessed by Beelzebul,\u201d and \u201cby the prince of demons he casts out the demons.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he called them to him and said to them in parables, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cHow can Satan cast out Satan?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">But no one can enter a strong man\u201d\u2122s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cTruly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter,<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin\u201d<\/span>\u201d\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0for they were saying, \u201cHe has an unclean spirit.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Isaiah 55:10-11 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0\u201cFor as the rain and the snow come down from heaven <span class=\"poetry2\">and do not return there but water the earth,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\">making it bring forth and sprout,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; <span class=\"poetry2\">it shall not return to me empty,<\/span> but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, <span class=\"poetry2\">and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>FOREVER FAMILY<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 3:31-35 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, \u201cYour mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he answered them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cWho are my mother and my brothers?\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">34 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cHere are my mother and my brothers!<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">35 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>1 John 3:1 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>John 17:3 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>1 John 3:23 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon Series by Rev.
