Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/rec0916-112038.mp3\">rec0916-112038<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE GOSPEL OF MARK<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>&#8220;Authority Over All&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Mark 1: 16-45<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE FIRST FOLLOWERS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 1:16-20 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Passing alongside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Jesus said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cFollow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And immediately they left their nets and followed him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, who were in their boat mending the nets.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants and followed him. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>UNHEARD OF AUTHORITY<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 1:21-28 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath he entered the synagogue and was teaching.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0\u201cWhat have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are\u201d\u201dthe Holy One of God.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But Jesus rebuked him, saying, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cBe silent, and come out of him!\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, \u201cWhat is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And at once his fame spread everywhere throughout all the surrounding region of Galilee. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>A PRIVATE MIRACLE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 1:29-34 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">29 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And immediately he left the synagogue and entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now Simon\u201d\u2122s mother-in-law lay ill with a fever, and immediately they told him about her.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her, and she began to serve them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>SUNSET SUPERNATURAL<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 1:32-34 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0That evening at sundown they brought to him all who were sick or oppressed by demons.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the whole city was gathered together at the door.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">34 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. And he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>PRAY AND PROCEED<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 1:35-39 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">35 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">36 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Simon and those who were with him searched for him,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">37 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and they found him and said to him, \u201cEveryone is looking for you.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">38 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he said to them, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cLet us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">39 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>TOUCHING THE OUTCAST<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Mark 1:40-45 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">40 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And a leper came to him, imploring him, and kneeling said to him, \u201cIf you will, you can make me clean.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">41 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cI will; be clean.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">42 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">43 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Jesus sternly charged him and sent him away at once,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">44 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and said to him, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cSee that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a proof to them.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">45 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But he went out and began to talk freely about it, and to spread the news, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter a town, but was out in desolate places, and people were coming to him from every quarter. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon Series by Rev.
