Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/rec0902-113546.mp3\">rec0902-113546<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>&#8220;CONVICTION or COMPROMISE:<\/strong><\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>When Faith Meets the Fire&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Daniel 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>LIVING WITH PRESSURE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Daniel 3:1-7 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits and its breadth six cubits. He set it up on the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then King Nebuchadnezzar sent to gather the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the justices, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces to come to the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the justices, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces gathered for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. And they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the herald proclaimed aloud, \u201cYou are commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0that when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, you are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And whoever does not fall down and worship shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Therefore, as soon as all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, all the peoples, nations, and languages fell down and worshiped the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>LIVING WITH PERSECUTION<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Daniel 3:8-13 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Therefore at that time certain Chaldeans came forward and maliciously accused the Jews.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0They declared to King Nebuchadnezzar, \u201cO king, live forever!<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0You, O king, have made a decree, that every man who hears the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, shall fall down and worship the golden image.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast into a burning fiery furnace.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0There are certain Jews whom you have appointed over the affairs of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men, O king, pay no attention to you; they do not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then Nebuchadnezzar in furious rage commanded that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought. So they brought these men before the king. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2 Timothy 3:12-13 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>LIVING WITH PERSPECTIVE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Daniel 3:14-18 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Nebuchadnezzar answered and said to them, \u201cIs it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden image that I have set up?<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now if you are ready when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, to fall down and worship the image that I have made, well and good. But if you do not worship, you shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you out of my hands?\u201d <span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, \u201cO Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Isaiah 12:2 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0\u201cBehold, God is my salvation; <span class=\"poetry2\">I will trust, and will not be afraid;<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\">for the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span> <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">GOD<\/span> is my strength and my song,<\/span> <span class=\"poetry2\">and he has become my salvation.\u201d<\/span> <span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>LIVING WITH PREDICAMENT<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Daniel 3:19-23 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with fury, and the expression of his face was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He ordered the furnace heated seven times more than it was usually heated.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he ordered some of the mighty men of his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then these men were bound in their cloaks, their tunics, their hats, and their other garments, and they were thrown into the burning fiery furnace.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Because the king\u201d\u2122s order was urgent and the furnace overheated, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell bound into the burning fiery furnace.<\/p>\n<p><b>John 16:33 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>LIVING WITH PROTECTION<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Daniel 3:24-27 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished and rose up in haste. He declared to his counselors, \u201cDid we not cast three men bound into the fire?\u201d They answered and said to the king, \u201cTrue, O king.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He answered and said, \u201cBut I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.\u201d <span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the door of the burning fiery furnace; he declared, \u201cShadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here!\u201d Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out from the fire.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the satraps, the prefects, the governors, and the king\u201d\u2122s counselors gathered together and saw that the fire had not had any power over the bodies of those men. The hair of their heads was not singed, their cloaks were not harmed, and no smell of fire had come upon them. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>LIVING WITH PERSUASION<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Daniel 3:28-30 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Nebuchadnezzar answered and said, \u201cBlessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants, who trusted in him, and set aside the king\u201d\u2122s command, and yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Therefore I make a decree: Any people, nation, or language that speaks anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shall be torn limb from limb, and their houses laid in ruins, for there is no other god who is able to rescue in this way.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon by Rev.
