Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/rec0513-112607.mp3\">rec0513-112607<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><i><u>Makin<\/u><\/i><\/b><b><i><u>g Timothy Into Timothy<\/u><\/i><\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong style=\"text-align: center;\">2 Timothy 1:3-5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>2 Timothy 1:3-5 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>WON IN A PAGAN LAND<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Acts 14:8-20 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Now at Lystra there was a man sitting who could not use his feet. He was crippled from birth and had never walked.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He listened to Paul speaking. And Paul, looking intently at him and seeing that he had faith to be made well,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0said in a loud voice, \u201cStand upright on your feet.\u201d And he sprang up and began walking.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when the crowds saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in Lycaonian, \u201cThe gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the priest of Zeus, whose temple was at the entrance to the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates and wanted to offer sacrifice with the crowds.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their garments and rushed out into the crowd, crying out,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0\u201cMen, why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like nature with you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0In past generations he allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Yet he did not leave himself without witness, for he did good by giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Even with these words they scarcely restrained the people from offering sacrifice to them.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and having persuaded the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But when the disciples gathered about him, he rose up and entered the city, and on the next day he went on with Barnabas to Derbe. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>JOINED AS A JEW<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Acts 16:1-3 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Paul came also to Derbe and to Lystra. A disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He was well spoken of by the brothers at Lystra and Iconium.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him, and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those places, for they all knew that his father was a Greek. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>PROVEN AS A MINISTER<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>Philippians 2:19-24 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I too may be cheered by news of you.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For I have no one like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For they all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But you know Timothy\u201d\u2122s proven worth, how as a son with a father he has served with me in the gospel.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I hope therefore to send him just as soon as I see how it will go with me,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and I trust in the Lord that shortly I myself will come also. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>MOLDED IN FAITH<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>2 Timothy 1:3-5 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>TAUGHT WITH TRUTH<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>2 Timothy 3:14-17 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon by Rev.
