Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/rec0429-112721.mp3\">rec0429-112721<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Standing for God in a Godless Culture<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>1 Kings 16:23 &#8211; 17:9 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>CULTURE OF CORRUPTION<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>1 Kings 16:23-28 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel, and he reigned for twelve years; six years he reigned in Tirzah.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He bought the hill of Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver, and he fortified the hill and called the name of the city that he built Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill. <span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Omri did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, and did more evil than all who were before him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in the sins that he made Israel to sin, provoking the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span>, the God of Israel, to anger by their idols.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now the rest of the acts of Omri that he did, and the might that he showed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Omri slept with his fathers and was buried in Samaria, and Ahab his son reigned in his place. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>1 Corinthians 5:6 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>BOUND TO BAAL<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>1 Kings 16:29-33 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">29 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel, and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span>, more than all who were before him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he took for his wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal and worshiped him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He erected an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Ahab made an Asherah. Ahab did more to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Leviticus 26:1-6 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0\u201cYou shall not make idols for yourselves or erect an image or pillar, and you shall not set up a figured stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the LORD your God.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0You shall keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span>.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0\u201cIf you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Your threshing shall last to the time of the grape harvest, and the grape harvest shall last to the time for sowing. And you shall eat your bread to the full and dwell in your land securely.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. And I will remove harmful beasts from the land, and the sword shall not go through your land. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Deuteronomy 28:15-24 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0\u201cBut if you will not obey the voice of the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span> your God or be careful to do all his commandments and his statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Cursed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0\u201cThe LORD will send on you curses, confusion, and frustration in all that you undertake to do, until you are destroyed and perish quickly on account of the evil of your deeds, because you have forsaken me.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span> will make the pestilence stick to you until he has consumed you off the land that you are entering to take possession of it.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span> will strike you with wasting disease and with fever, inflammation and fiery heat, and with drought and with blight and with mildew. They shall pursue you until you perish.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the heavens over your head shall be bronze, and the earth under you shall be iron.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The LORD will make the rain of your land powder. From heaven dust shall come down on you until you are destroyed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>REVELATION ABOUT RAIN<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><b>1 Kings 17:1-9 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Now Elijah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, \u201cAs the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the word of the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span> came to him:<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0\u201cDepart from here and turn eastward and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0You shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So he went and did according to the word of the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span>. He went and lived by the brook Cherith that is east of the Jordan.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And after a while the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then the word of the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">LORD<\/span> came to him,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0\u201cArise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to feed you.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Matthew 6:31-33 (ESV) <\/b><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Therefore do not be anxious, saying, \u201d\u02dcWhat shall we eat?\u201d\u2122 or \u201d\u02dcWhat shall we drink?\u201d\u2122 or \u201d\u02dcWhat shall we wear?\u201d\u2122<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon Series by Rev.
