Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/rec0128-111834.mp3\">rec0128-111834<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Faith Alone, Part 3<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Galatians 3:11 &#8211; 4:7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE COST OF THE GOSPEL<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Galatians 3:10-14 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">10 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, \u201cCursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for \u201cThe righteous shall live by faith.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But the law is not of faith, rather \u201cThe one who does them shall live by them.\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us\u201d\u201dfor it is written, \u201cCursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree\u201d\u201d\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2 Corinthians 5:21 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He made Him who knew no sin <i>to be<\/i> sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE COVENANT OF PROMISE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Galatians 3:15-22 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">15 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0To give a human example, brothers: even with a man-made covenant, no one annuls it or adds to it once it has been ratified.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, \u201cAnd to offsprings,\u201d referring to many, but referring to one, \u201cAnd to your offspring,\u201d who is Christ.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise had been made, and it was put in place through angels by an intermediary.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now an intermediary implies more than one, but God is one.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE COMING OF FAITH<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Galatians 3:23-29 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And if you are Christ\u201d\u2122s, then you are Abraham\u201d\u2122s offspring, heirs according to promise.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE CONSEQUENCE OF FAMILY<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Galatians 4:1-7 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0I mean that the heir, as long as he is a child, is no different from a slave, though he is the owner of everything,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by his father.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, \u201cAbba! Father!\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ephesians 2:3-7 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ\u201d\u201dby grace you have been saved\u201d\u201d<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><em><strong>By Grace Alone<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<h2>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<em><strong>Through Faith Alone<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In Christ Alone<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon Series by Rev.
