THE EXCLUSION OF UNITY<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Galatians 2:11-14 (ESV)
\n<\/strong>11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.
\n12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party.
\n13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.
\n14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, \u201cIf you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

THE ENDING OF THE LAW<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Galatians 2:15-16 (ESV)
\n<\/strong>15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners;
\n16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. <\/span><\/p>\n

THE EXPERIENCE OF GRACE<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Galatians 2:17-21 (ESV)
\n<\/strong>17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not!
\n18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove myself to be a transgressor.
\n19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God.
\n20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
\n21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.<\/p>\n

THE EXAMPLE OF ABRAHAM<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Galatians 3:1-9 (ESV)
\n<\/strong>1 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified.
\n2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?
\n3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?
\n4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Did you suffer so many things in vain\u201d\u201dif indeed it was in vain?
\n5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith\u201d\u201d
\n6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0just as Abraham \u201cbelieved God, and it was counted to him as righteousness\u201d?
\n7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham.
\n8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, \u201cIn you shall all the nations be blessed.\u201d
\n9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. <\/span><\/p>\n
