Richard Jones<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/rec0618-112359.mp3\">rec0618-112359<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>The Prodigal&#8217;s Dad<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Luke 15:11-32<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>REBELLION<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Luke 15:11-13 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">11 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0And he said, <span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cThere was a man who had two sons.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And the younger of them said to his father, \u201d\u02dcFather, give me the share of property that is coming to me.\u201d\u2122 And he divided his property between them.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>REVERSAL<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Luke 15:14-16 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>REPENTANCE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Luke 15:17-19 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cBut when he came to himself, he said, \u201d\u02dcHow many of my father\u201d\u2122s hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger!<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, \u201cFather, I have sinned against heaven and before you.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.\u201d\u201d\u2122<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ezekiel 18:23 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord GOD, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>RESTORING<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Luke 15:20-24 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And the son said to him, \u201d\u02dcFather, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.\u201d\u2122<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">But the father said to his servants, \u201d\u02dcBring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.\u201d\u2122 And they began to celebrate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Deuteronomy 21:18-21 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">18 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0\u201cIf a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and they shall say to the elders of his city, \u201d\u02dcThis our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.\u201d\u2122<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Psalm 103:10-12 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He does not deal with us according to our sins, <span class=\"poetry2\">nor repay us according to our iniquities.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For as high as the heavens are above the earth, <span class=\"poetry2\">so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0as far as the east is from the west, <span class=\"poetry2\">so far does he remove our transgressions from us.<\/span> <\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke 15:7 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>REFUSAL<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Luke 15:25-30 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">\u201cNow his older son was in the field, and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And he said to him, \u201d\u02dcYour brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and sound.\u201d\u2122<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">But he was angry and refused to go in. His father came out and entreated him,<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">but he answered his father, \u201d\u02dcLook, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might celebrate with my friends.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your property with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him!\u201d\u2122<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>REJOICING<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Luke 15:31-32 (ESV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">And he said to him, \u201d\u02dcSon, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: small;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.\u201d\u2122\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sermon by Rev.
