{"id":2701,"date":"2016-12-24T20:37:17","date_gmt":"2016-12-25T00:37:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/?p=2701"},"modified":"2016-12-25T13:54:20","modified_gmt":"2016-12-25T17:54:20","slug":"christmas-eve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/?p=2701","title":{"rendered":"Christmas Is All About JESUS!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Message by Dr. David Drake<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/rec1224-170744.mp3\">rec1224-170744<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ind\"><strong>Luke 2:1-20 (KJV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0(<i>And<\/i> this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And this <i>shall be<\/i> a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when they had seen <i>it<\/i>, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And all they that heard <i>it<\/i> wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But Mary kept all these things, and pondered <i>them<\/i> in her heart.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"ind\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Christmas has always been here.<\/em><\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"ind\"><strong>Ephesians 1:4 (NASB)<\/strong><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"ind\"><strong>2 Thessalonians 2:13 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"ind\"><strong>Matthew 25:34 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">34 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">&#8220;Then the King will say to those on His right, &#8216;Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>I. Jesus\u00a0was born to a family.<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Luke 2:1-7 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And everyone was on his way to register for the census, each to his own city.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. <\/span><span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Why?<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>This was done to reveal the very power of God.<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"ind\"><strong>Luke 1:26-37 (KJV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin&#8217;s name <i>was<\/i> Mary.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, <i>thou that art<\/i> highly favoured, the Lord <i>is<\/i> with thee: blessed <i>art<\/i> thou among women.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when she saw <i>him<\/i>, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">34 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">35 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">36 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">37 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For with God nothing shall be impossible. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>II. Jesus was announced to a world.<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The greatest message ever told was given to shepherds&#8230;<\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>A\u00a0Savior has\u00a0come to redeem the world!\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Luke 2:15-20 (KJV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And when they had seen <i>it<\/i>, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The message was announced to Wise Men&#8230;<\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>A Sovereign has come to be worshipped!\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"ind\"><strong>Matthew 2:1-2 (KJV)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>He is the Jesus of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ALL<\/span> mankind!<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>III.
