Matthew 6:24-34<\/strong><\/p>\n

Matthew 6:24-34 (NASB)
\n<\/strong>24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.
\n25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to<\/i> what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to<\/i> what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
\n26 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0“<\/span>Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet<\/i> your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
\n27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0“<\/span>And who of you by being worried can add a single<\/i> hour to his life?
\n28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0“<\/span>And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin,
\n29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.
\n30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0“<\/span>But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive<\/i> today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He<\/i> not much more clothe<\/i> you? You of little faith!
\n31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0“<\/span>Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’
\n32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0“<\/span>For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
\n33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0“<\/span>But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
\n34 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

and not one of them is the word … WORRY!<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

Worry (defined):<\/span> “to cause to feel troubled or uneasy; to make anxious;<\/span><\/h3>\n

to distress; something that causes mental distress.”<\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Three (3) haunting truths about worry …<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Worry has the capacity, power, and even the ability to <\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

redirect <\/span><\/b>our focus (maybe even our faith) away from Jesus Christ<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Worry puts words and actions in our life that express – <\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

“GOD, YOU ARE UNABLE TO SEE ME THROUGH THIS!”<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Worry can, and often will paralyze us, <\/span><\/b>emotionally, <\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

mentally, and spiritually<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

* Commit Yourself … vs. 24<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n
