Do not even the tax collectors do the same?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">47 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\"><span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing <i>than others?<\/i> Do not even the Gentiles do the same?<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">48 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\"><span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>I. The Partial Commandment &#8230; vs. 43<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"ind\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\">43 <\/span><\/sup><\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">&#8220;You have heard that it was said, &#8216;YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.&#8217;<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; Love your neighbor &#8230; (ref. Leviticus 19:18)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ind\"><strong>Leviticus 19:18 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0&#8216;You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD. <span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; Hate your enemy &#8230; (ref. Deuteronomy 23:6)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Deuteronomy 23:6 (NASB) <\/strong><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>You shall never seek their peace or their prosperity all your days.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>ILL. Luke 10:30-32<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke 10:30-32 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">30 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Jesus replied and said, <span class=\"JesusWords\">&#8220;A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\"><span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\"><span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; They were hating their enemy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; They were not loving their neighbor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>They were &#8220;partially&#8221; obedient &#8230; and partial obedience is total disobedience!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>II. The Perfect Commandment &#8230; vs. 44-48<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; The evidence of a new love &#8230; vs. 44<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\">44 <\/span><\/sup><\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\"><span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ref. Luke 6:27-28<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>27 \u00a0&#8220;But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 \u00a0bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; LOVE &#8211; your enemies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; DO GOOD &#8211; to your enemies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; BLESS &#8230; your enemies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; PRAY FOR &#8230; your enemies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; The evidence of a new obedience &#8230; vs. 45<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\">45 <\/span><\/sup><\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on <i>the<\/i> evil and <i>the<\/i> good, and sends rain on <i>the<\/i> righteous and <i>the<\/i> unrighteous.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; Our obedient life is heaven&#8217;s representation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; Our obedient life is earth&#8217;s revelation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE BASIC CHRISTIAN LIFE &#8230; BE &amp; DO<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8211; The evidence of a new attitude &#8230; vs. 46-48<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\">46 <\/span><\/sup><\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\"><span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have?
