Laodicea, The Fallen Church<\/h3>\n

(Laodicea\u00a0means the church that rules itself.)<\/strong><\/p>\n

(1960-present)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Revelation 3:14-22 (NASB)
\n<\/strong>14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:<\/span> <\/span>The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, says this:<\/span><\/span>
\n15 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot.<\/span>
\n16 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.<\/span>
\n17 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0‘Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked,<\/span>
\n18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that<\/i> the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.<\/span>

I. The Reasons For Their Fallen Condition<\/h3>\n

\n12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Epaphras, who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.
\n13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For I testify for him that he has a deep concern for you and for those who are in Laodicea and Hierapolis.<\/p>\n

II. The Redemption From Their Fallen Condition<\/h3>\n

1. God Dependency…vs.18<\/strong><\/p>\n

We must develop a less of me<\/strong> attitude and acquire a more of God<\/strong> desire.<\/p>\n

2. Self Humility…vs.19<\/strong><\/p>\n

We\u00a0must keep a repentant<\/strong> spirit if we are going to continue to experience the presence of God.<\/p>\n

Ephesians 4:2 (NASB)
\n<\/strong>2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,<\/p>\n

James 1:9 (NASB)
\n<\/strong>9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But the brother of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position;<\/p>\n

James 4:6 (NASB) <\/strong>
\n6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it<\/i> says, “GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.”<\/p>\n
