{"id":2138,"date":"2016-01-03T19:09:07","date_gmt":"2016-01-03T23:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/?p=2138"},"modified":"2016-01-03T19:13:48","modified_gmt":"2016-01-03T23:13:48","slug":"he-makes-all-things-new","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/?p=2138","title":{"rendered":"He Makes All Things New!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Message by Dr. David Drake<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crossroadchristianfellowship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/rec0103-113316.mp3\">rec0103-113316<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">He Makes All Things New<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Isaiah 43:19 \/ Philippians 3:13-14<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Isaiah 43:18-19 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">18 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;Do not call to mind the former things, <span class=\"poetry1\">Or ponder things of the past.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;Behold, I will do something new, <span class=\"poetry1\">Now it will spring forth; <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">Will you not be aware of it? <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">Rivers in the desert.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Philippians 3:13-14 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of <i>it<\/i> yet; but one thing <i>I do:<\/i> forgetting what <i>lies<\/i> behind and reaching forward to what <i>lies<\/i> ahead,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>I. He makes all things new in our worship.<\/em><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>John 4:19-24 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The woman *said to Him, &#8220;Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you <i>people<\/i> say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Jesus *said to her, <span class=\"JesusWords\">&#8220;Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\"><span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\"><span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\"><span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>1. Our worship must be spiritual.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Psalm 34:1-3 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup> <span class=\"poetry1\">\u00a0I will bless the LORD at all times; <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">His praise shall continually be in my mouth.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0My soul will make its boast in the LORD; <span class=\"poetry1\">The humble will hear it and rejoice.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0O magnify the LORD with me, <span class=\"poetry1\">And let us exalt His name together.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>2. Our worship must be practical.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Ezra 7:10 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the LORD and to practice <i>it,<\/i> and to teach <i>His<\/i> statutes and ordinances in Israel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Nehemiah 8:3-6 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He read from it before the square which was in front of the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of men and women, those who could understand; and all the people were attentive to the book of the law.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Ezra the scribe stood at a wooden podium which they had made for the purpose. ..<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people for he was standing above all the people; and when he opened it, all the people stood up.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then Ezra blessed the LORD the great God. And all the people answered, &#8220;Amen, Amen!&#8221; while lifting up their hands; then they bowed low and worshiped the LORD with <i>their<\/i> faces to the ground.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Nehemiah 8:8 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0They read from the book, from the law of God, translating to give the sense so that they understood the reading.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>3. Our worship must be eternal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Romans 12:1-2 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, <i>which is<\/i> your spiritual service of worship.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">II. He makes all things new in our witness.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>1. Our witness should be genuine.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Acts 2:41-42 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">41 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">42 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles&#8217; teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>2. Our witness should be bold.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Acts 4:13 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and <i>began<\/i> to recognize them as having been with Jesus.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>3. Our witness should be compelling.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Acts 2:43 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">43 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">III. He makes all things new in our work.<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>1. The work of God is personal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Philippians 2:13 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for <i>His<\/i> good pleasure. <span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Nehemiah 2:3-5 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I said to the king, &#8220;Let the king live forever. Why should my face not be sad when the city, the place of my fathers&#8217; tombs, lies desolate and its gates have been consumed by fire?&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then the king said to me, &#8220;What would you request?&#8221; So I prayed to the God of heaven.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I said to the king, &#8220;If it please the king, and if your servant has found favor before you, send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers&#8217; tombs, that I may rebuild it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>2. The work of God is corporate \/ collective.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Nehemiah 4:6 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So we built the wall and the whole wall was joined together to half its <i>height,<\/i> for the people had a mind to work. <span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>3. The work of God is spiritual.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Nehemiah 4:19-20 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">19 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, &#8220;The work is great and extensive, and we are separated on the wall far from one another.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>At whatever place you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there.
