<\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">He shall bruise you on the head, <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">And you shall bruise him on the heel.&#8221;<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">The <u>Need<\/u> To Fulfill God&#8217;s Promise<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Genesis 15:1-6 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">&#8220;Do not fear, Abram, <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">I am a shield to you; <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">Your reward shall be very great.&#8221;<\/span> <span class=\"noindent\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Abram said, &#8220;O Lord GOD, what will You give me, since I am childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Abram said, &#8220;Since You have given no offspring to me, one born in my house is my heir.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, &#8220;This man will not be your heir; but one who will come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And He took him outside and said, &#8220;Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.&#8221; And He said to him, &#8220;So shall your descendants be.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then he believed in the LORD; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew 1:21-23 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">21 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">22 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet:<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">23 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,&#8221; which translated means, &#8220;GOD WITH US.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Genesis 15:3-5 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Abram said, &#8220;Since You have given no offspring to me, one born in my house is my heir.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, &#8220;This man will not be your heir; but one who will come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And He took him outside and said, &#8220;Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.&#8221; And He said to him, &#8220;So shall your descendants be.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew 1:20 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">20 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, &#8220;Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Genesis 15:6 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then he believed in the LORD; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew 1:24-25 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">24 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took <i>Mary<\/i> as his wife,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">25 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">The <u>Means<\/u> To Fulfill God&#8217;s Promise<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Genesis 17:1 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">&#8220;I am God Almighty; <\/span><span class=\"poetry1\">Walk before Me, and be blameless.<\/span> <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Luke 1:26-33 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">26 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">27 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin&#8217;s name was Mary.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And coming in, he said to her, &#8220;Greetings, favored one! The Lord <i>is<\/i> with you.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">29 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But she was very perplexed at <i>this<\/i> statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">30 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The angel said to her, &#8220;Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">31 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">32 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">33 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.&#8221; <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Genesis 17:2 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;I will establish My covenant between Me and you, <span class=\"poetry1\">And I will multiply you exceedingly.&#8221;<\/span> <span class=\"noindent\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Luke 1:34-35 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">34 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Mary said to the angel, &#8220;How can this be, since I am a virgin?&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">35 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0The angel answered and said to her, &#8220;The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Genesis 17:3-4 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying, <span class=\"poetry1\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0&#8220;As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, <span class=\"poetry1\">And you will be the father of a multitude of nations.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Luke 1:37-38 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">37 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"versemode\">&#8220;<\/span>For nothing will be impossible with God.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">38 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0And Mary said, &#8220;Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.&#8221; And the angel departed from her.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">The <u>Reason<\/u> To Fulfill God&#8217;s Promise<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Genesis 22:1-14 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 <\/span><\/sup><span class=\"ind\">\u00a0Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him, &#8220;Abraham!&#8221; And he said, &#8220;Here I am.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He said, &#8220;Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son; and he split wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0On the third day Abraham raised his eyes and saw the place from a distance.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Abraham said to his young men, &#8220;Stay here with the donkey, and I and the lad will go over there; and we will worship and return to you.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son, and he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So the two of them walked on together.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, &#8220;My father!&#8221; And he said, &#8220;Here I am, my son.&#8221; And he said, &#8220;Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Abraham said, &#8220;God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.&#8221; So the two of them walked on together. <span class=\"ind\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then they came to the place of which God had told him; and Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood, and bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, &#8220;Abraham, Abraham!&#8221; And he said, &#8220;Here I am.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0He said, &#8220;Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.&#8221;<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind <i>him<\/i> a ram caught in the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a burnt offering in the place of his son.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this day, &#8220;In the mount of the LORD it will be provided.&#8221; <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew 20:28 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">28 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0<span class=\"JesusWords\">just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The reason is to bring men by faith to trust God.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Galatians 4:4-5 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>1 Timothy 2:3-6 (NASB)<br \/>\n<\/strong><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0For there is one God, <i>and<\/i> one mediator also between God and men, <i>the<\/i> man Christ Jesus,<br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 <\/span><\/sup>\u00a0who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony <i>given<\/i> at the proper time.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">We<\/span> are the Reason for the Season!<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Message by Dr. David Drake rec1129-112701 Christmas From Heaven&#8217;s View &nbsp;
